Editorial Review for Masonic Temple – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Completed in 1926, this is the biggest Masonic temple in the world. It's a classy mammoth structure rising from one of the city's down-on-its-heels neighborhoods. In 1992, the temple underwent a $5 million restoration, bringing sparkle back to its generations-old space.
The Main Theatre seats over 4,400 and features Broadway spectaculars, concerts and special events. The smaller, 1,500-seat Scottish Rite Cathedral hosts independent and repertory performances (as well as local high school graduations).
