Hart PlazaHart Plaza Goodness. I love walking down to Hart Plaza. The Japanese fountain is fun to watch and it's nice to walk down by the water. In the summer time there are a lot of festivals that go on in this area on the weekends as well. Another good tip is to walk up the street to circus maximus and enjoy the fountain there and music. There is a little cafe there as well.
This centerpiece of downtown is a hub of action, no matter what the season..
In Short
Hart Plaza's Isamu Noguchi-designed fountain is the centerpiece for downtown happenings. The fountain's flowing water proves irresistible to enthusiastic children. The plaza offers ice-skating in the winter and a myriad of free events in the summer, including ethnic festivals, the Detroit International Jazz Festival and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Downtown office workers often congregate here for lunch; it's not unusual to see people fishing in the Detroit River.
great view of windsor. Hart plaza is a great place to enjoy music and the diversity of detroit. Plenty of parking, lodging, and close to all downtown attractions. It's festivals like the electronic music fest and jazz fest are fun and safe.
Hart Plaza. This was a great idea - if it had been put anyplace but downtown Detroit. Festivals are always overcrowded, overpriced, and unsafe.
