Detroit >Coaches Corner of Detroit
Coaches is awesome. I have been going to coaches for years and the bartenders are awesome and always hook me up. The atmosphere is fun and energetic and the food is ridiculously delicious. Tiger's games are so much fun and I can't wait for opening day this friday where tons of awesome fans will all join at this bar for a great time. HUGE ADVOCATE !!YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
I won't be back!.
Everyone was trying to get a drink. Would't even acknowledge you when passing by. All they had to do was say I'll be right with you, had a full bar and they took thier time. They did find the time to do shots while paying customers were waiting. One bartender disappered for 10 min. and other barmaids just shook thier heads at customers waving money to get a drink. The drinks were kind of expensive, but I guess they have to be cause thats the only way that bar can make money! I could have drank more, but couldn't get waited on. Too bad having a captive audience there makes customers put up with bad employees. The owner needs cameras. This could be a wake up call for the owner. Good luck future customers! Also, I was charged different prices for my 3 drinks that I was lucky to get. I have been in the bar business for over 30 years and from my experience bartenders that work for tips will hustle to make more money. Ones that don't hustle should'nt be in this job or they are making really good money off the bar owner! Putting camera in will make the dishonest ones complain Sometimes a bar makes so much money, the owner looks the other way. The ones that complainare the ones you have to watch or get rid of!
Somebody there is stuck on stupid!
Worst Sports BAr.
I went to Coaches Corner for the Final Four Semi Final Games on April 4. Overall this has to be the worst run bar I have ever been to. I have been to sports bars all over the country and this one by far was the worst run. I’ll outline why.
There was not a person checking id’s or counting people as they went in and out of the bar. I did not get id once and I did not see one person check an id all day. After we were in the bar for 2 hours the place was so full that the fire marshal came and determined the place was over capacity. The people running the bar just asked people to leave, but no one listened so they had to bribe people with drink vouchers to leave. The patrons had their drink vouchers, but could not use them because they left the bar and could not get back in. The main bar was way understaffed. There were only 4 bar tenders when there should have been at least 8-10. Our main bar tender for the day didn’t even work there, he was just working there for the day. He didn’t care about anything. Like hustling, being personable, and positively representing his employer. It took 20 mins sometimes to get a beer. The beer prices were crazy. They were charging $18 for a pitcher of Miller Lite. Crazy. The bottles were $4, which is not crazy, but I doubt that is the price they normally charge. They ran out of bottle beer, which resulted in some of our beers served to us warm. There was one guy cleaning up the empties so at any given time there were 15 – 20 empty beers on the bar. The biggest issue was that they did not have the sound on for the game. This place is a sports bar and one would think the management could figure out how to get the sound working through their speaker system. What they did was turn every tv up to max volume, but we still didn’t hear anything. They had a week to figure out how to get the volume on their speaker system. Just stupid. One toilet in the men’s bathroom was overrunning with urine and feces, but did anyone working there clean it up. No. It was like that all day.
The owner and management of the bar should be very embarrassed by the incompetence that was on display this day. I have no doubt they made a ton of money this day, but did so at the expense of future visits by patrons. I will never go to this place again nor recommend anyone go there ever after what I witnessed.
A neighborhood bar and restaurant that covers all the bases..
The parquet and carpet floor of this sports bar usually supports the feet of neighborhood 20-somethings looking for a break from studies or the rigors of working for the Man. A big-screen TV is positioned for all to see, and it's joined by a host of smaller screens scattered throughout the bar. Dart boards and a pool table are available, as are deli-style sandwiches and finger foods like mini-tacos and chicken wings.
