This restaurant may be off the beaten path, but the traditional Mexican fare and low prices are worth the trip.. In Short Forget fast food, this is authentic Mexican fare. The interior features wood tables, tile floors and a jukebox with Mexican love songs. The menu is full of favorites like stuffed peppers, thick tortas or sandwiches, or caldo de res, a Mexican stew. Tacos here are soft flour tortillas heaped with meat, cilantro, onions and salsa. For a treat, substitute steak or chicken with chorizo, grilled beef tripe or al pastor, a spicy pork.
Mi Pueblo Fantastic Value..
This has been my favorite lunchtime place since they opened. I have been to most of the Mexicantown eateries since working in the area. Los Calones, Xocie's, Mexican Village can't compare with the food quality, value for your money (large portions). They just don't have a bar, no big deal to me. Now on their third expansion, it's still crowded. DPD is always there also so it must be good. Staff is friendly and they know the regulars by name.
