In Short
Cozy fireplaces lend an air of comfort to this mansion-turned-restaurant, and a truly magnificent center stairway leads upstairs, where former bedrooms have been transformed into intimate dining spaces. The menu features Japanese and French fare, with a twist (steamed wasabi flavored dumplings; foie gras with raspberry demi-glace and fresh berries over wilted greens). For a quick lunch or after-work bite, settle in at the well appointed sushi and sashimi bar. The sake list is also extensive.

Insider Tips
Where to SitWhen it's cold outside request a table beside the fireplace. Come summer, dine on the outside patio under towering shade trees.
The ExtrasCheck out the cool tile and retro fixtures in the downstairs unisex bathroom tucked out of the way under the grand stairway in the front foyer.
Know Before You GoBring along some friends and sit on the floor, Japanese style, in the lower level. For added fun, a karaoke machine is available for sake-soaked sing-alongs

Me and a couple of my friends went there for dinner. A really attractive receptionist showed us around the house. (Which is rumored to be haunted), and we sat in a nice corner downstairs. The food was amazing. The sushi rolls were unlike any other japanese restaurants, and even the miso soup was flavorful. We had alright service, the waiter was pretty slow and several times we ran out of water. But the amazing food made up for it. I'll tell you one thing, I am definitely going back...again.
Pros: good
Cons: Ok service

We went here for sushi based on reviews here. We were not disappointed. I went with a guest who eats sushi all over the country. He said this is among the best he has eaten. After ordering a few rolls off the menu we let the chef get as creative as he wanted. If you are adventurous I would recommend doing this. The dishes were creative and wonderful. The atmosphere was truly unique. You don't expect a sushi bar in an old house!
Pros: Great sushi and very creative
Cons: not the cheapest place to eat sushi but still worth it.
