Please ignore the verbose bad review and pay attention to the majority of good ones because those are spot on! This place is DEE-LISH. My friend and I have went multiple times and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The CA rolls are great and the tempura (any type) is great too. Try any one of the "special" rolls and you won't be disappointed. We love it. It is a little pricey, especially for lunch (we end up spending about $20 each) but it's a splurge we fit into our budgets simply because we love it so much. They have an all-you-can-eat lunch special on CA rolls on Wednesdays which I just discovered. The dining area is a bit small but always packed. You do the math...it's popular for a reason.

Pros: Food is awesome.

Cons: Somewhat pricey, but worth it...and there are daily specials. Dining area could be bigger.

I had to write about my experience to warn others. I went here for lunch one day while I was in Detroit based on all the 4 star reviews. Possibly the worst sushi experience of my life. I ordered a Sushi special (mostly chef's choice Nigiri with California roll, Miso Soup, and a house salad. First came the salad... brown lettuce and poor cuts of lettuce. The Miso Soup was good. Then came the sushi. First, Nigiri should be bite sized, it should all fit in your mouth. The cuts of fish were too large. That would be forgivable if it we decent sushi that wasn't stringy and tough like a bad piece of beef. All the rice kept dropping off when I picked up the pieces of Nigiri. Either they don't know how to cook the rice or the chef couldn't figure out how to pack it. Now here is the disgusting part. Imagine trying to stuff too-big a piece of raw fish (I love sushi, don't get me wrong) into your mouth, starting to chew and... you find you're chewing on a fish scale. Yes, I had to pick a fish scale out of my mouth. Gross. Two cuts of the fish were so bad I couldn't even eat them. The chef apparently needs to go to school to learn how to trim fish. Two other pieces that I did eat had ragged and stringy edges that dropped to my plate along with all the rice. The CA roll was a mess. Again, either poor packing or poor rice prep had the things falling all over my plate. At the end of my meal I had a plate with two poorly trimmed pieces of fish sitting on sagging beds of rice, a plate full of loose rice that fell off the other Nigiri and CA rolls, and a nauseated feeling in my stomach. I should have gotten a burger at the airport. When I got home I went to my local sushi place for their lunch special the next day. At the end of that meal, I had maybe four pieces of loose rice on my plate and I was not nauseated. So I confirmed it's not me, it was the restaurant.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Terrible quality, poor prepration and presentation, not fresh
