Great Place For a drinks and Food. Centaur is great I come here weekly for happy hour with my friends and co workers the 7 day $5 martini happy hour is a great steal and the food is not your average bar fare. The staff is excellent. I have been coming to Centaur for several years and have been waited on by Jason many times and as a Black person I find it hard to believe that Jason is a racist and would ever use the N word under any circumstance. I love Centaur!!

Centaur Martini Bar. Although this is a nice upscale Martini bar it has one problem that will not appeal to a few the bartender who works Wednesday and Sunday his name is Jason and this dude is extremely racially prejudice using the word Niggerr to describe black customers who visit this location it's seems he thinks all white customers do not mind his way of describing other ethnicities but this is something the bar can do without the guy has a serious issue avoid this place on Wednesday and Sunday..

Excellent food, awful service. We went to the Centaur before a Tiger's game--there was a decent crowd, but not packed. Food was excellent, but the bartender was rude and could not handle the "crowd". Let me preface this by saying I vowed I would never return here due to an ugly incident with a bartender here about 2 years ago. It was so awful we found the manager to complain (which I never do!). Well, lo and behold, the same bartender was still working here. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but when he was rinsing a glass right in front of me I said "excuse me, can I please get another beer when you have a chance"--he looked at me and said "hey, you just don't shout out your order--is this the first time you've been in a bar?". He then took another 10 minutes before he returned to take our order (this is after we had been sitting without drinks for about 10 minutes before my rude request! Even the group of guys sitting next to us commmented how rude he was, and then they had to wait about 10 more minutes before he got their order. Once he took my order, it only took him about 5 more minutes to get our beers...The food, however, was OUTSTANDING!!! But beware the bartender with the ponytail!! There are plenty of other bars in the area where you can get great food and much better service AND attitude!!!

Great martini.. This is one of the most beautiful bars in Detroit. The look is cool art-deco with a great big chandelier coming from the 2nd floor. We had drinks and aps. and a very good time.

I will be back. Soon.

Rudest Bartender Ever. First time visiting Centaur, and got the rudest bartender ever. I order the first round of drinks for me and some friends. The bartender took my credit card without telling me how much i owed, then left my tab open without even asking. when i requested he close my account, i was told "no, i won't do it until you're ready to leave." of course, i asked why, and he replied, "because it's a waste of our time." the atmosphere is nice, but just watch out for the rude help (esp. the guy wearing a baret).
