Pizza >Papa Elias Pizza
friendly staff not so friendly food. A friend and I went here today for the first time and were pretty disapointed. The salad bar was ok the salad cheese and mushrooms were fresh the rest of the items seemed old espically the eggs which were whole and not cut up for some reason. They have chicken which is a $1 more which they don't tell you about until you get the bill and the pizza wasn't very good the one plus is they do let you pick your own topping and make it fresh but its very bland pizza the breadsticks were stale and there was no sauce to dip them in the cheese bread was the best item there. The staff was very friendly and helpful but the restruant was very out dated though. The highlight of the visit was being able to play the old star wars pinball game. First and last visit
Garden city's best pizza place. Papa Elias has great tasting pizza. I love it. I go to Papa Elias every week sometimes even more than once. Papa Elias is known for the pizza and chicken. Also, like this week I went and there was a special, potatoes, that were awesome. this place has wonderful staff working, wanting to help with choosing your favorite pizza because they ask you for your favorite topping and they told me that they make their own sauce and dough, which by the way is really good. I am keep going for 5.99 all you can eat that can not get beaten great value and great quality. GOD BLESS. Trust me and go ahead and try it.
Papa Elias Pizza is the best place for anyone who is looking for a pizza place.
Staff is friendly and makes you feel comfortable.
Fake reviews.. So my guess is that all of these reviews were written either by someone who works at Papa Elias, or someone at Cici's. None of the reviewers have reviewed any other restaurants, and all use similar generic stock images for their profile pics. Honestly, both places have terrible food. Last time I ate here, there was quite a bit of spoiled looking food on the salad bar. The chicken was OK, but its kinda hard to screw up fried chicken. The pizza reminded me of a frozen supermarket pizza - like a DiGiorno or something... Nothing spectacular.
Will want To go Back Over and Over Again.
I go to Papa Elias almost every week. Usually after Church with my family because of the quality standard of food and ambiance. The owners are welcoming and very friendly, they almost make you feel like home, and its extremely sad that someone would try to sabotage such a great family business that deserves nothing but great reviews just because they are bitter.
I do recommend anyone who is looking for a great deal on a pizza, chicken, bread sticks, salad, and cinnamon sticks buffet to go to Papa Elias. They also have a menu if you're craving something more specific and any pizza not available on the buffet, the owners will be happy to whip up fresh. Its fun, upbeat, and great for the family. Try it out for yourselves before listening to harsh invalid reviews. From a constant returning customer, I trust you'll be happy you did.
Great Value -- Nice Staff.
On first glance you can see Papa Elias' is not the fanciest place in town but don't let that sway you. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome instantly. We came in and checked out the pizza choices and the salad bar and sat down to wait for two people to join us. Within a minute or two the owner (Papa?) came out and asked us our favorite pizza toppings we tried to tell him what was there (4 different choices I think) was fine but he insisted. So we told him and he made us a fresh pizza. Our 6 year old wanted something different so they made that too. The pizzas were very good. The cheese bread, the bread sticks, and the cinnamon sticks were all delicious. The buffet (for 5.99 a person) also included homemade Chicken Soup with real chicken and good thick stock or Vegtable Soup (which I didn't try but it looked good.) But let's not stop there -- there was also barbeque chicken, fried chicken and pasta. The salad bar had all the typical fixings and at least 6 different dressings. I heard staff come and ask another patron if they needed any thing else (on the salad bar.)
The booths and tables are old a worn but they are clean (and you will see staff cleaning, under tables, wiping down booths, taking away dirty dishes constantly.) The menus were a bit worn and I would have preferred these to be cleaner but we didn't even use them so it didn't matter much.
There are a number of arcade games in a room next to the banquet room (which is adjacent to the main dining room.) The bathrooms were the one thing that were really bad -- if they would update these I'd give this place 5 stars.
We'll go back for good food & good service at a great price. 4 adults and 1 child ate for $39.00.
best pizza in town. i'm a regular at papa's and i love it. my family in i go in every tuesday bc i work late on tuesdays and dont like to cook. i had my daughter's first bday party there and becaause papa is so familiar with us he bought her a pretty dress as a gift to wear. i work in a restaurant (no name mentioned) and its not easy work. every time we go into papa's place they ask us what kind of pizza we would like them to put on the buffet. it doesn't take more than five min before our pizza is out. in themean time we have salad. and for the record, their bathrooms are very clean.
Great food. I read the reviews and I think that sucks that someone would say that about Papa Elias. I was at the parade yesterday in Garden City and we popped in to try them out and we had best service and food. Their chicken tastes even better than KFC and their bread is so fresh and so yummy. And the game room is nice, my sons loved it. We will def be back
THIS IS PAPA ELIAS PIZZA OWNER. A WORKER WAS FIRED AND MADE THREATS TO BRING US DOWN AND THIS IS ONE OF HER WAYS TO DO SO, BY POSTING ALL THESE BAD REVIEWS.
PLEASE NEGLECT TO BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT YOU READ UNTIL YOU TRY US FOR YOURSELVES. THIS IS VERY UNFAIR FOR SOMEONE TO DO THIS. WE ARE A FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS AND WE HAVE PUT OUR LIFE SAVINGS AND ALL OF OUR TIME AND EFFORT INTO THIS RESTUARANT. AND WITH THIS ECONOMY AND TOUGH TIMES, IT IS A GREAT SIN FOR SOMEONE TO PUNISH US WITH FALSE REVIEWS ON OUR PLACE BECAUSE SHE IS UPSET WITH US.
WE ARE BEING COMPARED TO CICI'S PIZZA WHICH IS NOT FAIR EITHER. THEY ARE OUR COMPETITORS BUT WE WISH THEM WELL ALSO. JUST LIKE WE HAVE WORKERS THAT ARE MAKING A LIVING, THEY DO ALSO. WE WISH ALL BUSINESS OWNERS IN GARDEN CITY WELL
THANK YOU AND PLEASE COME TRY US SOON
Don't Bother. I have tried this place 3 times from when they opened to now. The first time the restrooms had soaked the carpet (maybe for a few days) and they were open as usual. The second time all items on the "salad bar" were warm, like they didn't have refrigeration under it. The fried chicken was burned on outside and raw on inside. Last time the employees were eatting off the buffet, by picking things up with their fingers and walking back in the kitchen. That was enough chances for me. I will stick to Cici's where i can get fresh food.
