Jazz in Detroit. Great atmosphere. I love that they have jazz almost every night of the week. However, the entertainment can go either way. They can have really good bands (gypsy jazz, 1920's jazz show, and the fri & sat variety of Rodney Whittaker, Paul King, urban transport, etc) and then usually on Wednesday and Thursday they have the same thing over and over. It gets old after awhile. I do like that the Big Band mixes up the variety week after week. But I try to go on Thursday once a month now. It is just the same monotonous thing every week. Standard songs that we hear done the same way over and over. A jazz song should never sound the same way every time unless it is a big band. It is good but I just don't wanna see the same thing every week. The drinks are a little more money than places in the Burbs but you are getting good entertainment. Watch the valet on game nights. They charge 20 bucks to valet your car and their is usually a cover charge for bands to. So, $20 for parking, $5 cover, $5 per draft beer could end up being an expensive night.
