This popular Royal Oak market has everything--a top-shelf seafood counter; a meats and a deli counter that rivals any specialty sandwich shop; wine and beer aisles that are expansive and impressive. The bakery creates some of the most moist and sweet birthday cakes around. A long and bright counter showcases a wealth of handmade delights, ranging from huge brownies and cookies, to assorted samples of pies, cheesecakes and doughnuts. While the cheesecakes (especially the Uptown New York variety) are mouth-watering, the pumpkin pecan crunch pie is also a heavy hitter--three layers of pumpkin cake, along with pumpkin mousse, crushed pecans and gingersnaps make this a true delight. Fruit tarts, eclairs, truffles and petit fours--all homemade--will tempt.
