The Scene
Feel the beat, taste the sweat. Strobe lights, black lights and spotlights cut through the dark interior. Racy psychedelic murals of women shoot out from the walls. The music pounds much louder than at an average bar, so conversation tends to be minimal. Heavy smoke from machines and cigarettes create a thick haze. Drink specials are offered nightly. Tuesdays feature $1 drink until midnight. Various nights throughout the week alternative between dance, electro-industrial and retro-goth tunes.

I love Luna. I've been going there for years - too long to mention - before it was Luna and even when it was called 3D. It's a great club to dance or to just have a few drinks. The regular crowd is pretty heavy into the alternative scene, but its a welcoming atmosphere no matter what your taste (as long as you have an open mind and are as welcoming as the regulars). It's Ok to go there alone or with others. There are different, but related, themes each night. Hot bartenders too.
Pros: Dancing, the people, the drinks

I think I've found my new favorite club! LUNA has the BEST music for dancin' and a great vibe (Feng Shui?). Even though the bar gets packed, there are still places to sit... comfy couches by the pool tables, cocktail tables and -- if you get there early enough -- you might snag a "spinny booth" or the "Mafia booth"! The best part about the dancefloor is you won't get molested like at a booty bar! The drinks are cheap (especially on Tuesdays!) and plenty strong. The waitresses, bartenders and dancers are HOT, and everyone here is cool. Its a good place for people watching... mainstream or alternative, anything goes! LUNA is off the main "strip" in Royal Oak, but it's better that way... it's right across the street from the Coney at 12 Mile so if you have too much to drink you walk over there and sober up!
Pros: good music, great vibe, people watching
