Dearborn >Miller's Bar
Not as good as it used to be. I have been going to Millers for 20 years but the last 3 or 4 times the burgers were not good at all, they were dry the meat was overdone on the outside. It seems like they turned up the grill heat just to knock them out fast. The Millers I remember you got a nice tasty burger that was juicy and cooked just to order. I know that in these times places aren't staffed like they should be but this is no reason for the quality to suffer. If this continues, it will turn people away. Start using the same quality of meat that was being used before and maybe these reviews will improve.
Burgers. The best burgers around, food is fresh, not frozen, and the place is awesome!!
Anyone who would reate Cheli's better than Miller's.... Has totally marginalized themselves. Their business model has been working for them for decades and they still use the honor system. Best burgers in the US. End of story.
I'm just not a fan.
If you've never been there before and you've heard people talk about it for years, go in with low expectations.
The burgers are good not great, the menu is minimal, and the wait staff is inattentive at best.
I always get the old Lady that takes your order and never comes back until the foods ready.
My suggestion.............Biergarten bar is just down the street, I like their burgers better, and you don't have to wait in line to be crammed in to a tiny table in an even smaller room.
Burger Okay, Staff is RUDE!!!. I have been stopping in here occasionally since 1987, the burgers are not bad, onion rings are good, fries are weak, liquor and beer selection is not very good, basics only, service is inconsistant, staff spends too much time treating people in a rude manner or bickering amongst themselves. Everything is always their way, RUDE. God forbid you ask for silverware, or bring an odd number of diners. Just about the time I enjoy my meal the staff ruins it. And if you don't like something, well they are quick to inform you it Dan Miller's place and his rules so like it or lump it. On weekends the younger bar staff like to argue and fight in front of you whicj can be entertaining by itself. The whole bunch need to retire and get someone to run the place that knows the meaning of customer service.
Best burgers? Really?. So I was in town from Arizona visiting a friend and we went to miller's last week, based on seeing it here. I must admit, it wasn't bad. don't expect a menu. they will just ask you what you want, you know the answer, Burger. $23 for two of us to have burger fries and a beer. so I am thinking "not bad" then 2 days later I find myself at "3 Nick's" Scoreboard. I find out that with a 2 drink minimum you can order off their "lunch" menu (Lunch is served till 11p.m. by the way) I order the bacon cheeseburger I chose pepper jack cheese (there are other options, mushroom swiss etc.) and it was ten times better than Miller's! much thicker (hand made and not frozen ground round) better taste and get this it cost $1.00 I know you can't believe it. but it really was the best burger I have had anywhere and it was $1.00. The waitresses and bartenders wear bikinis till 4 so leave the kids at home. they like McDonalds better anyway. the lunch menu also includes fries, onion rings and many other option all for a buck each. So two beers ($1.75 each) onion rings and the best burger ever for two of us for $11. less than half the price of Miller's (with one more beer to boot) plenty left over to tip the nice looking girls in bikini's. So skip Miller's and go to Scoreboard ( i hear there are 2 other "3 Nick" bars in town but I have not been there) You will be glad you did.
A Burger worthy of a backyard BBQ not national aclaim. Just a regular, average, burger...The burger is just meat (frozen, not fresh) on a bun - no seasoning. You cant even dress it up. For a place that only sells burgers, fries, and onion rings, I would expect fresh meat with fresh condiments- not a glorified McD's frozen burger. Would have given it three stars but the only reason for the trip was all the hype, and it didnt live up to it... No where near the best bar burger in Detriot. If you are in the area, you should go, just so you know what you're not missing...
Not my thing. This palce is sooo over rated.I do not see what other people love about it.They serve only a few things and the lines are horrible. No place to sit!!Just don't get it.I have tried it 3 times!!No more for me!
Millers bar. I actually saw them pick a piece of cheese up off the floor and put it on a burger. That is when I left.
Outstanding burger with a slice of 50's Americana. Ok - I can see why some people would think the place and the burgers are way over rated. Miller's has only a couple things on the menue . The place itself is not much to look at either. However whenever i'm nearby i've gotta stop in. i've only had the burgers and for me the burgers are outstanding - I'd rate their burger in the Top Ten from around the country. They are simple - no oversized bun or chilli or any wild assortment of toppings. You can get it with cheese or just straight. It comes on wax paper. You get a tray with pickles, mustard, catsup and a slice of onion. That is it. I love the burger due to its simple clean taste. And you get it cooked exactly the way u like. Say rare - and expect it to be dripping. In a time when food establishments are all competing to out do one another - Millers remains the same - decade in and decade out. And i dare say, that is what throws people off. Miller's is from another time, when you'd get off work and have a beer and a burger before heading home. Its a kick-back setting and it can take a little getting accustomed to. So don't be so quick to write it off. There is a reason why generations of family's keep coming back. Give it a chance and try it a second or third time if it didn't initally click for you. At some point it'll work for you and see the place for the gem it really is.
