Tips for Dearborn Historical Museum

February 28, 2007

Dearborn's military headquarters once defended Detroit; now it's a museum.. In Short
To keep law and order on the "frontier" west of Detroit, a U.S. government arsenal was built from 1833 to 1837 to in what is now Dearborn. The Commandant's Quarters, one of 11 buildings in the arsenal complex, still stands today as the oldest building in Dearborn and the main feature of the Dearborn Historical Museum. Set up like a historic home, it contains period furniture, old-time parlors, a dining room and four bedrooms upstairs.
