I am very disappointed in my experience with Glen'sTV. First let me start off by saying I had to call them almost every time I was in contact with them. I brought in a projector on December 31st. After a week, I called because I hadn't heard from them. They told me it needed a part they weren't able to find. Within a few minutes of looking on eBay I found the part and called them back to tell them. They then called me back later that day to tell me I needed to purchase the part on eBay myself so that they would not have to worry about eBay issues of refunds if it wasn't the right part. I had the part within 4 or 5 days and took it up there immediately. I didn't hear from them for over a week, so again called them first, only to be told that it was a difficult part to put in the way it came and that I would be charged $300 on top of the initial $35 fee. It is countdown to Super Bowl so the next day, January 24th I called and told them to stop the repair that did not seem to be in progress and that I would pick it up as is. Well I picked it up today, January 25th and fixed it myself within just over an hour of getting home. In summary, having gotten the part myself and later fixing it myself they did nothing but cost me time, money, and watching the championships on my own screen! They can rebuttal all they want, but they had it for 24 days and I could have gotten the part in 4 and fixed it in 1!!!!
Factual response to Scicluna complaint – This is being written in response to the complaint that Mr. Scicluna made against Glens TV. My name is Brian Pickard and I am the owner of Glens TV. I wrote out a complete detailed response to this complaint but since the space at this site is very limited, i will keep a copy of it as well as the original invoices that included the FACTS regarding this job. I will make this available at the shop or via email to anyone who wants to judge for themselves if ANY wrong doing at all was done by my shop.
To keep this as brief as possible, I will only state the main facts here. They are as follows.
On 5-20-2008 Mr Scicluna brought the TV to the shop.
This TV was a large 35 inch old wood console TV.
Mr Scicluna paid the standard checkout charge for a set this size which was $35.00.
His complaint was: intermittent picture problems, then the TV went totally out. Also sound problems prior to all of this.
We gave our estimate and Mr Scicluna told us to repair the set on 5-22-08.
We quickly got the TV running again but then found that the intermittent problem was a VERY intermittent problem. Mr Scicluna was informed. The TV would play for a week at a time and never show a problem. Mr Scicluna and I talked multiple times regarding this and should we continue. I was told to continue until our conversation on 7-22-08 where we both agreed to stop the repair. On 7-24-08 Mr Scicluna called me and told me to dispose of the set. NO ONE at my shop ever asked for this old console TV with this tough problem.
I told Mr Scicluna I will just remove the parts we put in for the repair done so far and he wont owe me anything more ( this is my policy). At this point I told him "I wont loose any sleep over this" (loosing out on not getting paid for all we had done so far). I never have had a customer prior to this complain about this policy that we have.
Fortunately for Mr Scicluna we were extremely busy and due to vacations at the shop, we never got to stripping the TV and disposing of it because on 8-11-08 he called saying he wanted the TV back. I told him OK. He picked up the TV on 8-14-08.
Mr Scicluna never paid more then the original check out charge of $35.00. I honestly believe Mr. Scicluna had NO reason to be mad at us, if anything, a bit of appreciation for all we tried to do would have been nice.
Most of the people we do work for know I HONESTLY care about the service we do, and that we strive to do a quality job on every item brought in the shop.
Unfortunately not every item can be repaired and there are a small percentage that we must stop on.
I can assure any current or potential customer that we all do as much as we can to take care of our customers and their products. We do not want, need, or try to keep any customers product. ESPECIALLY an old wood console!
To all the potential customers that read this I assure you that I will strive to earn your trust and loyalty if you allow me to. Please take this into consideration when deciding who you entrust your repair to.

Great TV repair shop in Dearborn Heights - Glen's T.V. Sales & Service, Inc – Glen's TV Sales & Service has now repaired an old 1985 Toshiba television about 2 years ago and now more recently a 1982 manual VCR player/recorder. They were brought into the store and the $20.00 deposit placed on each. We were called within a day or two with an estimate of the cost which was reasonable. We gave the permission to go ahead and fix the items. On each occasion we received a call back from the store in about a week that we could come and pick the repaired item up. We have been very pleased with the service of this store. With the VCR player/recorder we called other stores and were unable to even find a place willing to look at it. Glenn's TV seemed to have the resources to obtain the necessary parts on a old but valued TV and VCR/VHS player/recorder, which will give us many more years of service and we thank them. We still like the old manual way of setting the recorder without having to turn on the TV.
Waste of time and money – We were so disappointed with our experience that we felt compelled to write this review.
We brought our TV in for repair and left it with Brian the owner and explained the problem with the set
with the assurance that he would look at it and let us know in 7 days what the problem was and if he could
fix it. After a number of phone calls to Brian and his crew, and three months later, we were informed that the problem was still there and he could try some other parts on it as well, but no guarantee if this will work either.
Brian said he sure wasn't going to loose any sleep over this. Obviously we lost our faith in th fact that we
brought this to the right place and informed him we will be picking up the set.
When we tried to get them to wright down what they had tried so we could let the next repair shop know,
we were dismissed and sent on our way with no more information than we had three months ago and
minus the diagnostic fee. THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do yourself a favor and let someone who cares about your TV being fixed work on it , and not someone
who is looking to warehouse your set and sell it to someone else once you have given up hope a bought a
The enormous amount of unfixed sets in his shop should have been the tip off for us.
