Best deli sandwiches in town!. I was a frequent customer, but sadly moved from Detroit, so no more La Penguina Deli for me. They get their bread, buns and rolls fresh from the bakery next door. They have lots of penguin pictures, paintings, stickers and stuff inside. A little querky, but interesting nonetheless. Their staff are fast, friendly and quick with a smile. Their salads and sandwiches are to die for. My favorite was the Californian Vegie - lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, avocado, havarti cheese and a honey mustard dressing on a beautiful, large round bun. And you gotta try the tortolini salad too. Stop by there the next time you're in Dearborn - you can eat-in or take-away. They're on the east side of Greenfield, between Michigan and Ford. They're located behind KC's Dive (bar), which is next to where the old Kroger supermarket was. Enjoy!
