I found my new yard !!

by hottrods74 at Citysearch

I bought an engine from another yard downriver and the engine was yunk, I found Dix Auto online and wasnt to excited about going to another yard, but I must say not only did they have the engine I needed but the lady ask me if I wanted a lifetime warranty, LIFETIME WARRANTY from a yunk yard?? I of course said hell yeah, thinking she was kidding but she wasnt I cant believe it, I have to really count my money these days and didnt have the money for this but they had financing so I got the warranty with it. I wanted to post anything to make sure my engine didnt blow up or something but it has been almost three weeks and nothing running great, so to the great folks at Dix Auto , Thank You for your help, you have a customer in me and I will tell anyone that needs parts too!!!!

by motorhead90 at Citysearch

I do all my used part shopping at dix auto parts and i have never had an issue. They always find what I need fast and make it affordable. The best part about buying parts from here is the extended warrentys they offer, i mean who else offers lifetime warrentys that cover labor, ON USED AUTO PARTS!!!!!! I highly recomend them for all ur auto parts needs

NEVER GO HERE

by lee48146 at Citysearch

Just a bunch of used untested junk from this place that gets shipped from state to state from the location they have out of michigan. I bought a fan from them and was never told over the phone used parts came from them since i never went there before and no were in the company name says used parts or salvage just says auto parts of course it was no good after a couple days but living in livonia it was hard to get right back. So after a few weeks i made it back there and i know im a little past the return date but i ask the manager who was a complete disrespectful person out of concideration if there was anyway i could make a return or even get a little off ordering the next 150.00 used fan assembly and she basicly told me to f off. Avoid this JUNK YARD at all cost it will only cost more in the end.

He is right, there is lubricant in the cylinders. The lubricant was placed in the motor before we stored the motor. We buy only recent model cars (no after life cars) and store the motors for long periods, this is proper storage procedure.

The engine is a used salvage motor over 10 years old and had a small amount of rust, which would be expected, but the longevity of the motor is not affected. We are so sure of this motor, we offered him a lifetime warranty on it, which he declined.

The motor has been resold without complaint or incident and we have warranted it for lifetime and this includes an allowance for labor.

This gentleman gave us a bad review because: He first wanted $550 for repairs and said it was for repairs to the motor which was his personal car and it needed the repair. We agreed to give him the money even though we did not believe it needed repair to avoid the shipping cost of return. The next day, he said it was for a customer (not his car) and he would need $750. We asked for return of the motor and we refunded his money within 24 hours of receiving the motor, which is our policy.

After he shipped that motor back, he wanted another motor (different kind). We told him we could not ship to him, not because of the return, but because we were charging $250 for freight, but the real cost was $750 for freight to his location in New Mexico. He got mad, called our office lady some bad names, and wrote us up.

buyer beware

ordered a engine. recieved looked like it had sat out side in the elements for at least 3 years. intake was completly faded white.all alluminum severly corroded. engine was uncovered on the pallet. none of the vaccum ports were plugged tbi was just open and full of dirt etc.. i pulled spark plugs to discover that wd-40 had been recently sprayed in the cylinders. so i scoped the engine with a snap-on scope to discover the pistons and cylinder walls sever rust and pitting. i called and the customer service lady was arguing with me telling me its normal for a engine to be locked up from rust and wd-40 fixes them!!! lmfao im a ASE certified technician and owned my mechanic shop for 15 years and im telling you these people are flakes. they refunded me my money after 2 weeks setting my customers back.
