Real Mexican food. Family owned and operated. We have been going for over 25 years. Great value. Great food. Favorite Mexican food of all the good Mexican restraunts around.

EXCELLENT!!!. We enjoy going to the Matador. All the food is great but we especially LOVE the Taco's! They are as authentic as you can get.

Don't look for Tex-Mex. Don't look for Tex-Mex, Taco Bell or Heaven forbid ChiChi's-they serve dishes that don't exist in any culture!

Look for REAL Mexican food. Not hot-unless you're the type to eat a pure jalapeno with your meals! Not "Spicey!!". It's just plain, good homecooked Mexican food.

After living in Texas and California-we did afterall get them from Mexico-I looked forward to going to Mi Casa in Southgate. Soon discovered why the food was no longer pure Mexican...Tito (Red) Garza sold his share.

So, Downriver no longer has to travel into the city. We have our own "Mexican Kitchen"

Nasty, Nasty, Nasty. Matador is absolutely the WORST immitation mexican food i have ever had. I ordered tacos. Simple huh? I got some nasty shredded dried beef that resembled beef jerky in a tortilla with Parmasean Cheese! Not regular Cheese, but cheese used in Italian restaurants..it was horribly disgusting. Save yourself, Taco bell is more authentic!
