Unique Super Tanunfair to workers!. i was interviewed and hired at Unique Super Tan on April 7th 2012. I started my *unpaid* training the following week. I trained for 7days, all of which included doing all of the store cleaning alone (cleaning beds, vaccuming ect.), while the girl getting paid to work watched. In the mean time i memorized all the lotions, packages, and how many lamps were in each bed. i worked really hard for this job. However, when it came time to put me on the schedule, i recieved no phone calls, no messages, and no emails. After all the time, effort and free work i put in they thought i didnt even deserve a phone call. When i contacted Unique Super Tan, i spoke with the owner (julie), i asked her why i was not contacted and put on the schedule. She responded "i was waiting for your phone call, I didn't know if you still wanted the job." I asked her "why would you think i didnt want the job after i worked really hard for free for 7days"? She then told me "you have no enthusiasm, the other girls (her daughters) said you didnt look happy" and then offered to let me do MORE free training (how nice!). After I declined her offer of letting me work for free, she then asked me "did you lie about being a tanner"? I later seen they had put up a craigslist add for the position. So i put up an add outing them and sharing my experience. The very same night i recieved an email from a girl thanking me for posting what i did, she had the same experience with Unique Super Tan 4 months earlier. Unique Super Tan is unfair to their employees, they promise people jobs and do not follow through. If you agree that an employer should treat people fairly, please show them it is NOT okay, do not give them you business
OOP! We forgot to say that and We don't do redos or refunds. I thought I would try the sprayless tan today- Wish I would have did a little more research. I asked a local tanning salon if they knew a salon that did a sprayless tan and they told me to try Unique Tan and I did. The salon appeared clean and well taken cared of, So I ordered a spray tan. I made it very clear that This is my first spray tan. Nichole explained How Wonderful their tan machine was, I was walked to the spay room and was handed a small amount of blending lotion to put of my hands, feet, knees and lips. Instructed to motion in front on the machine to start it, and to turn when the machine pause (I might not be able to hear the machine talk while the doors closed) and to just pat dry. After a quick visit to the lady's room, I undressed and hop In. As the machine speaks to motion to start. I begin waving at any and everthing that could be a senser, after a couple mins the machine starts and I'm coated in cold tanning solution. It then dawns of me it's not misting me, but coating me and How should I be standing? arms out? at my sides? As I turn my final turn I see number foot prints on the floor a good two feet back from where I'm standing. I pat Dry, Dress and find Nichole. After I explain what happened I ask WHAT HAPPENS NOW? I get a sorry and told I can buy a repair lotion (for $5) to remove the spray tan and told I might be ok. I'm then told There are no redos or refunds. Well It does not look OK! Maybe I should have asked more Questions, Maybe Nichole should have explained a few things a little better.... I Will not be returning. I will buy My repair lotion at another Salon.
