In Short – Hip and historical (it's the first bottled beer from a brewery in Detroit since the prohibition) the small and intimate brewing works has the feel of a neighborhood bar with a sleek and casual atmosphere. With original beer on tap, like Ghettoblaster, the bar is a well-kept secret. With occasional live music, this is the perfect place for an after-work drink. In the warmer months, enjoy the outdoor deck.

Overall, the experience at Motor City Brewing Works is what really makes the place: Detroit retro meets art space meets hipster chic. The beer is merely good (not great), the food is merely satisfying (not must-have), and the service is more often than not abyssmal. Seating is limited so get there early if you want a spot; parking is not free in the lot so best park on the street.
