Circa's is most definitely a great bar with great prices. If you're not into the pretentious club scene and just want to grab an ice cold beer and a burger, this is the place for you. The bartender is awesome, even if you haven't been there before, as soon as you walk in, you are exactly like a regular. Beer prices are awesome: $3.50 for a 1/2 pitcher of Old Style. They also have a wide selection of beers, including Schlitz, which was just brought back not too long ago ($1.50 for a longneck). Also great if you have a large gap of time in between classes at WSU to grab some lunch. So once again, if you're into the clubbing scene, this probably isn't a place for you. But, if you're into a place where you can relax, talk to patrons like you've known them forever, and not spend a fortune, then by all means stop in.

Play pool, wonder at their display of jackalopes, play the juke-box, eat and drink pitchers with friends, and forget your woes. Carpe diem! You have arrived! Well, not exactly. Knda ghettttto, but that's a good thing. Its friendly, like Cheers, but there is no Frazier or Lilith to remind you that many people are slain with neuroses. Hahaa! Chill out, this is Wayne State University, the neighborhood where Casey Kasem grew up and where LaidBack is normal.

There aren't many places in Detroit where you feel secure settling down for a few brews, a great burger, and a long conversation with a buddy. This is such a place. While the clientele is predominately Wayne students, eveybody is welcome. With a art nouveau ambiance and private booths, you can't beat the place for atmosphere. But it's the burgers that are worth the visit. They are thick and juicy and cooked to order. Their pizza is the bomb, too. In fact, I've never eaten anything there that wasn't good. This place can get really loud and crowded on Thursday and Friday nights, so if a mob scene isn't your cup of tea, check it out at lunchtime.
