In Short – This place is informal; you may share a table with some interesting folks. Hashed browns are made from scratch. Spicy corned beef comes with eggs. Any omelet special, such as havarti, dill and asparagus starts the day off right. Fluffy pancakes are served with fresh fruit and Traverse City maple syrup. For lunch go with the grilled vegetable sandwich, with roasted red pepper, grilled portabella, eggplant, zucchini, chevre and sun-dried tomato pesto.

I went on a saturday morning before going shopping at the eastern market ! my thought was ? WHY do people come here ??? this Place has terrible service ! the food was slow and Not even Standard fare ???
AGAIN Why do prople come to this place ? Apparently the eastern Market area has a LARGE need for a normal Restaurant !! the people must think this kind of place is normal ??? NO , NO, NOT this place !
Time to find anywhere esle but this Small overcrowed Place Stinks too ! the place smelled as though the restroom had overflown and not cleaned up ! what a thing for a restaurant ! NEVER AGAIN !!
- Pros: none ! WHAT SO EVER !
- Cons: This place smelled bad, slow service , and Sub par food !!
A fun place to eat at the Eastern Market
by bethesdagirl
Five of us ate breakfast yesterday at Russell Street and we had a great time. The service was terrific (very friendly and attentive), the food was good and the atmosphere was really fun. It's VERY popular and lines form early on Saturdays, so expect a long wait unless you're near the head of the line.
- Pros: Great service, fun atmosphere and good food
- Cons: Long wait
Best corned beef I have ever had
by matteroftaste
Corned Beef fans listen up this is the best and leanest corned beef you will find in the Detroit metro area. Try it on sourdough with horsradish to taste or in your omelette with cheese and mushrooms, it's the best! Speaking of omelettes try the smoked sausage and cheese, you won't be disappointed. Home made soups made from stratch, I can honestly say I have never ordered anything at the Russell street deli that I didn't like. The line out the door says it all. It's definitely worth the wait!
- Pros: Quality of food and service
- Cons: It is small and since it is so good there is always a wait
