Get the real address (488 Selden St). I can't believe City Search still has the wrong address. Honest? John's is a great dive bar. The food is basic pub grub (with killer slaw!) BUT the salads are quite good--and generous--nevertheless. Easy on the wallet. Wide mix of folks. Quirky and everyone fits in--I've never seen anyone hassled. I felt welcome. no matter what I was wearing (after work; after working on the house). Don't hesitate to show up for 7:00 am breakfast, either!

"Honest?" John Thompson has a bad attitude and a big heart--and he's not afraid to let you know it. This neighborhood dive bar/cultural institution is irreverrently appointed with a neon "Count Your Change" sign and a Barbie floating in the fish tank . Events such as "Honest? John's Shakedown Society's" annual Easter Bunny Roast and the rump-revealing "moonshot" raise money for neighborhood church programs like Toys for Tots and holiday turkey giveaways.

beat beer choices and prices. John's has great food and great company with the best bar in town. If you want an honest answer on detroit and your life you should visit this place and relate to the people you meet.

The best juke box in 50,000 miles. This establishment is everything you need in a bar and soon to be restaurant. This place is a must see in the city.

The people are friendly as long as you are not a complete nutball. You can find yourself entangled in conversation about Philosphy or hunting or any other thing under the sun regardless of your background.

Highly reccomended, the new location will have food man!
