OMG - A Real Detroit Treasure. My daughter and I decided to go in when we saw that Juanita's was in charge of the cooking, remembering her venue from off of 6 mile it seemed to be an excellent place to stop and eat and if there was entertainment WOW what a plus. We were not dissappointed. The Lounge is small and very cozy, some of the booths are cramped, but a variety of sizes for seating were available.

The food was soooooooo good I had to remind my daughter to stop moaning over every morsel.

The wait staff was fast, checked back with us to see if we needed anything on a regular basis. In no time the entire Lounge was packed, but you wouldn't have known it because the patrons were dignified and having a real good time, but not loud.

The Live entertainment (I can't believe it wasn't listed on the front page of the News/Free Press) and the level of excellence portrayed by the performers, some second generation, a singer who sounded like Nancy Wilson a flutest who had been at Chene Park the week before, the piano player was JUST AWESOME, the drummer and guitarist were equally as talented.

There were even performers who came from Canada. We couldnt believe all of that entertainment in such a small place, there was a sign in sheet for visiting performers as well, at any other club south, east, west or north of eight mile would have cost a fortune.

It was a magnificent evening and did I say it was a Tuesday. While rocking to the musical experience we decided to top off this spectacular day with some peach cobbler, didnt want to ignore this lil treat.

BUT I must say it is lacking in good old southern taste. No crunchy, browned to perfection crust, no lemon or nutmeg, and needed more sugar... I was so very hurt, but everything else was so danged good I still give it a 150% thats right I said it 150%, my daughter is still salivating over her descriptions of the food and entertainment.

You cant go wrong with this Detroit Gem, (just pass on the cobbler)

And to the gratious, courteous patrons, parking attendant, staff, cooks, owner and anyone else who has something to do with the operation of Bakers----Bravo, Bravo. BRAVO!!!!…

Avoid any night. This is one of the worst places I have ever been to. The wait staff is extremely slow. My wife and I went to enjoy some jazz and have a few drinks. Our waitress asked if we wanted a drink, we said yes just not now. Well long story short we were told that there was a two drink minimum we said yes we know and then restated we would be ordering just not at this moment. Then the manager came to our table to restate what the waitress had said. We also told him the same thing. That wasn't enough so we had to speak to the owner. He made it clear that when you come to Bakers you must order something as soon as you sit down. Needless to say we left with out ordering anything. After speaking to the owner John he made it clear to my wife that our patronage was not important and that we wouldn't be missed. But I'm not sure if he even heard her as he was to busy watching tv as she tried to talk with him. Now that's what I call great customer service. But before warned with the quality of the wait staff you may order as soon as you get there, but it will take forever to get what you ordered. Don't waste your time ordering food it taste like it's all been deep fried in the same grease and it will probably come to your table warm at best. Last I must admit the music is great the service and employees are horrible.…

nice date spot. I loved it. i went here last year and loved the experience. living north of detroit a good 40 miles and being 21, walking in there seemed a little sketchy. We walked in and was greeted at the door, and got to sit in this cozy little booth right in front of the band. with the really impressive music, the dark lighting, the cozy booths its a perfect spot for a romantic date. not to mention, the crowd that night seemed very l aid back and polite which made me feel comfortable there.…
