Excellent. I was surprised to see bad reviews on here. This is my favorite restaurant in Greektown. I have been eating here since I was a little kid (I'm 25). The atmosphere is lively and loud, just like a Greek restaurant should be, in my opinion. The decoration is ornate and creates a setting like you are eating in an authentic Greek restaurant on the Mediterranean. The Saganaki is great (Opa!) and pretty much everything on the menu is stellar. My personal favorite is the Chicken Lemonato (I know it's not VERY Greek). It is breaded chicken in a semi-thick garlic, lemon, butter and wine sauce. There are many great restaurants in Greektown, but Pegasus is my favorite, that's why I keep going back!
very bad.
I am Greek so I know Greek food and any god food for that matter. I have been to other Greek restaurants which have been equally disappointing.
Their food does not taste like Greek food. Whoever says it is authentic they do not know Greek food. My girlfriend and I both have had stomach problems from eating there even the next day.
It is very pricey and bad quality.
The waiters are not polite. The toilets stink very badly. They toilets and smoking toilets!!! so watch out for your kids going in there.
Do not go there.
bad advice. i recently went here with some of my friends, now mind you, i'm 17 and they're 19. my friend asked our waiter what he recommended from the menu, he, of course, recommended one of the most expensive things on the menu, the shrimp. later when we ordered, my other friend ordered the shrimp while everyone else went with something more affordable, considering the shrimp was $22. when we got our food, we thought it was a joke, he got six medium sized shrimp, and some nasty looking green peas. later, my friend was able to laugh at this, but at the time he was VERY upset, as were we. i personally would recommend the parthonon, which is just across the street, or pizza popolis.
Good food, bad service. The food here is authentic and very good. However, service is less than stellar. We asked our server to wrap up leftovers and instead he threw them away...then didn't offer to correct his mistake.
Authentic food. Great food but you feel as though your being rushed. During peak times it can get very busy and load. Still recommended.
Thriving evidence that Greektown doesn't change..
In Short
Eat under a pretend grape arbor, listening to Greek music and nearly continuous cries of "Opa!" All the traditional favorites: stuffed grape leaves, Greek salad, spinach pie, baklava, infinite versions of lamb. Retsina and Greek wines. There's nary a diner who doesn't order kasseri cheese, flamed tableside with brandy and lemon juice. Favorites include scordalia (potatoes mashed with olive oil and visible garlic) and avgolemono (lemon and chicken soup).
PARTY TIME !. The only draw back was the seating of our party, poor planing on the mangerment part. Food was great ,service was at a fast pass.Don't go there for quite time. A fun place for yong and old.
authenticity and atmosphere. Well this has to be the best restaurant in Detroit that I have found yet. A Greek friend of mine says that the food is VERY authentic, just like her aunts and mom make. The service is SUPERB and the food is awesome. This place is A+++, highly recommeded.
