Went to the Detroiter Bar, Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 - where the place was about half full. We had 6 ppl. in our group. We had to bus our own table just to sit down. Was greeted by the waitress who was clearly "FRAZZLED" who took our drink orders - came back too many minutes later. Ordered our food - the Burger, which was GREAT and the kitchen was FAST.

The service was slow - had to get our 2nd and 4th rounds ourselves by going up to the bar.

Asked for separate bills, but got one -

I start off tipping minimally 20% - well let's just say it was hard for me to give the waitress a 10% tip.

I will have to think twice about returning.

Hey Malaka's Detroiter Bar - do your self a favor - hire some good wait staff - and maybe a busboy for weekends!

Were there around 11pm on Saturday, August 18th. Our waitress was terrible. She overcharged us, complained about her job, and every time she did bring us our drinks, it took her several trys to get the order correct. We left in complete disgust.

Natalie kathy and jill. The detroiter is a great place to drink relax and have fun also 3 a the best bartenders in town natalie jill and kathy they make the place I go there mainly for them there fun hot and awesome!!! Just don't piss em off lol

Just a place to drink. Service is always fairly slow, as bartenders talk with their friends while forgetting about those not in their direct eyesight. But it's a good place to plop down before or during a Red Wings/Tigers/college bowl game, as there is a free shuttle to the games. Jukebox gets plenty of action. Typical bar food. Caution....bathrooms have only one toilet. When the place gets crowded, those lines get long. This is a good jumping off place when you plan a night on the town....a block to the casino and greektown, in the heart of the downtown area. Nothing special, yet a place I return to when i pull into town waiting for my friends to get off work...a comfortable, familiar place with plenty of natural sunlight. (and sidewalk seating weather permitting)

A worn hardwood bar sits in the center of this humble gathering place. Old posters of sports teams surround a big-screen TV that broadcasts all the games that matter. During the week a handful of regulars populate the bar; weekends often provide a diverse mix of bar-hoppers. Sports fans congregate here before or after the game. The menu consists of traditional bar fare: burgers, gyros, fish-and-chips.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!. We travel to Detroit on a regular basis, and have been referred to the Detroiter many times. On this trip, we stayed in Greektown with plans to go to the Detroiter to watch the NCAA Basketball games and the Redwings game. The service was the WORST service Iwe have ever had at any bar/restaurant in my life. The server was rude, made nasty comments, we were ignored as she was talking to other workers when we were trying to order drinks and compained about her boss the entire time we were there. We complained to management however nothing changed we left and will forever tell people to never visit this bar again!!!!! After we were in Detroit for the Super Bowl we LOVED the city again, after one afternoon at the Detroiter we are in no hurry to go back.

Great place before hockey games!. You can't beat the free shuttle service, the burgers, and one kick a_ _ band I saw there a few weeks back called "the 3 of us". Where have they been, and where did they come from? If you want to see a "Real" detroit motown band go check them out! The waitresses are pretty hot too!

Detroiter is Wicked Good!!!. The Detroiter Bar is really good and has good drinks. My friend likes to take his pants off in the summer while sitting in their killer outdoor seating area. The House Special will give you some fierce heartburn but it's worth it. Look out for evil robots because they can be troublesome. I give the Detroiter bar 10 thumbs up. LOL :)

great bartenders. This is the best place in detroit to hang out. The bar tenders are the best, danein, juliya, liz, i hope thats how you spell them well any way the best burgers in town and some very sweet people. i had a great time guys hope to see ya soon. your bud STEVE
