The Show is very entertaining but yet make US Americans ehhh. Ok first off let me say I m not from Detroit and I never been in a pawn shop before. I see hardcore pawn on truTv almost every Tuesday night at 9pm the newer episodes and to be honest the show is good for good reasons & bad ones. I think most of the show is just for drama ratings purposes but I do understand that it is a family business handed down from generation to generation. Ashley & Seth bicker allot and Seth is 30 and Ashley in her late 20 s I think. They fight more then me and my sister and were FAR! younger lol I guess fighting with simblings have no age cut off point lol. Les the older man who run the shop displays his store for more for what it is thats my opinon I m not sure lol because I never been there so idk. Rich seem like a more level headed person to be one of the general managers there. Seth could be to but he bullies Ashley allot but she does have allot of mouth lol especially to her customers. Most people keep saying that they see more African American customers acting a fool on this show well to me it doesn t matter what race or gender because each race somehow on the show make Americans look bad in a way so it doesn t really matter also Les has his shop in a very low income area in detroit thats what it looks like on TV I could be wrong and detroit is one of those cities who go through ression hard but other then that I think the show is really entertaining tho but the family and ownwers do have to make profits in order to sell the customers stuff I really think the family is a loving family when the camera s are turned off tho...…
*** A Shameful City ***. What can I say other than the show gives the city a very bad image. 95 % of the customers are black which is typical of the area but it's those people shown in the show that give the city a very bad image. Almost all the customers who come into the pawn shop are ignorant, foul mouth, rude, low life gang acting like members who have mental issues. I can't believe the city of Detroit allows this show to portray this cities people on national tv as such unless the city officials themselves are corrupt and taking hush money. The show is 5 STAR, the image it portrays of the people 1 STAR thus I gave it a 3 STAR here. I'd love the chance to go to the shop and see things first hand and the rest of the city.…
They SUCK. Seth and Ashley are typical kids of the owner. They talk like they know the business inside and out but in reality they know NOTHING!! As soon as Les is gone the business will go under! Dont waste your time going there! They will LOWBALL you on your stuff and absolutely insult you with their offers.…
LIARS BUT CONSIDER THE SOURCE. IN A NUT SHELL WES LOOKS LIKE FRAMPTON ON CRACK AND HIS BOZO SON LOOKS LIKE DOPY THE DRADLE/ COMING FROM A CACASION MALE THIS COMPANY TARGETS THE INNER CITY AFRICAN AMERICANS AND MAKES A SPRINGER SHOW OUT OF IT. FROM THE TIME I CALLED TO SELL MY ITEM I WAS LIED TO AND TREATED ARROGANTLY. THESE TWO PUNKS WOULD GET BEAT BY MOST WOMEN AND THE SECURITY IS A JOKE , I WAS GOING TO SMACK ONE OF THEM BUT TWO MANY CAMERAS THE SPINELESS JELLY FISH HAD AROUND OR SHOULD I SAY WHITE FISH AHAHAHAHAHAAHAH MOZZELLTOFF THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING WES OR HIS MINI IDIOT COULDNT HOLD THE SWEAT OFF CHUMLEYS BALLS…
Bad business for business.
This place is full of badly tanned scam artist. During these tough economic times Les and his family prey on those in need, shamelessly. They have taken items from individuals claiming that they did
not pick up their items in time, but the true reason is that they had sold their items before their time was up. I am a loyal customer who has been a loyal customer for several years and I personally am fed up with their poor service. Especially when it comes to giving their clients back their own personal items. I have received my items back from them broken, whereas the items were not broken when released to the American Jewelry and Loan possession. Les directly said these words to me, "There's nothing I'm going to do about that.", and "Show me a broken item that was broken here." Well, I did and he did nothing about it. Game consoles, laptops, desktops, tvs, and even tools of mine have come back broken. I am under the assumption that they allow our items to be taken from the counter where the transaction takes place, then just tossed in a room like a piece of trash.
Some of us, if not all, have fallen on hard times. We put trust into these crooks, not knowing that they are spineless crooks, to hold our most valuable worldly possessions. I have pawned my family heirloom to keep my family in lights and gas. When I returned to pick up my items just a week or so later, I found new damage done to my item. Damaged that was done well under AJL care. Les was on site and just blew me off like I was worthless and my item deserved it.
I wish someone would have warmed me. I have been in dealings with them for far to long. As a loyal client I stick to what I know, but I know that I no longer want to stick with American Jewelry and Loan. Predators deserve no loyalty.…
