National is the way to go. National Coney Island is great. This one is cool, but you gotta try the one on Van Dyke and 12 Mile, across from the Tech Center. The biggest and the best.

#1 resturaunt. National Coney Island has the fastest service, the cheapest food around, AND the best food around. If it wern't for Coney, there wouldn't be any more "decent" resturaunts around. MOST of the other resturaunts around give you something way over priced and that doesn't even look like the picture-and the best part about it-they take an hour to make it!

Awesome. If you're hanging out in Detroit late night, the Coney Island is a great place to hang out with friends and have a hot dog...real down to earth and ethnic. Definitely not going there to try to impress anyone, just to have a fun time. Servers are ethnic, kind of greasy spoonsy but real.

I MADE A MISTAKE..... I MADE A PREVIOUS ENTRY ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT. I MADE A MISTAKE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THIS ONE ON MACK AVENUE. I WAS REFERRING TO THE CONEY RESTAURANT ON GRISWOLD BETWEEN MICHIGAN AND LAFAYETTE. I THINK IT IS CALLED "AMERICAN CONEY ISLAND". PLEASE FORGIVE ME.

not the best. Didn't think their Dogs were that good. The Chili is a bit lacking also. Might be good if your to loaded at 3 in the morning to go somewhere else

Greasy Spoon:(. The food and service at National Coney Island could both improve significantly! The food was greasy and tasteless. Cheap is not always the only factor!!!!

Naysayers...go away. This National Coney Island is a great place to catch a quick, satisfying meal. Their coneys ARE tasty, and relatively inexpensive. That you can get a beer here to add to the enjoyment of your meal is a plus in my book.

Fat, Smoke, Don't need a coney dog. I'm sorry, but I've been to just about every National Coney Island there is, and I can think of only one that doesn't have tables in the smoking section. Slamming an entire chain that provides FAST, affordable, and great food to people who like it because YOU have self created problems (ie fat and smoke) is just poor form. If you really wanted to eat, I'm sure you could have survived the 5 minutes it takes to get your food without smoking. I'm glad you go to Denny's, because I think most of them are disgusting and I'll never have the misfortune of running into you.

cheap eats: cheap food. If saving money on food is your only concern, then National Coney Island is for you. The food, however, borders on inedible.
