I always book ahead, being such a busy salon it stands to reason that you need a weeks notice to get in. And my cut is $28 and my hilites are $95. They are always super friendly and accomadating. I'd never go anywhere else.
Not convenient. With today ecomonic's you would think that smaller business's would be more consumer friendly. The competition for a consumer's money is hard pressed. But unfortunately Lamia and Lamia has a different view. Trying to make an appointment is very difficult unless you have a "Soccer mom" schedule meaning that if you work normal hours forget getting into the Salon. When you call you feel that they are doing you a favor to see you and you need to be flexible to THEIR schedules. Although talented they may be, I would think in today's business enviroment they would more business minded. Although most of the stylist are very talented, the last time I was there they added a "Jewelry" area . So it appears that they are looking to make money in different ways. Perhaps the best solution is to have stylists on staff who are available for the "working " peoples schedules, that may solve the problem. Unfortunately I am now forced to take my normal $225.00 for a color and cut somewhere else. Too bad, because overall the salon is good but I can't wait until some one decides to be available to service the customer.
$300 for a trim and high lights.. I visited Lamia & Lamia for a trim and some high lights and was completly taken advantage of. My hairdresser (Tanya) found anything she could to charge me extra. She offered to touch up my eye brows which consisted of filling in a gap with some powder and turned around and charged me $21 for plucking and shaping!. I walked out of there with my hair looking awful and all the owner offered was a credit of $50 dollars, like I want to have my hair done there again. The owner had the front desk girl Lindsey speak to me instead of handling it herself and did not offer any kind of apolagy.
Great Salon and Staff. I have been a customer of John Lamia for several years. The service at his salon is incredibe. The cuts are great and his staff is always friendly and helpful.
Excellent, affordable hair cuts. I've been looking for a hair salon on the east side for some time. I found Lamia & Lamia online and thought I'd give it a try. I was a little wary because it's in Grosse Pointe Woods, and I feared it might be overpriced and have a snooty staff. Well, I'm happy to admit that my fears were unfounded. My stylist, Erin, was extremely friendly and spent quite a while on my hair. The haircut is adorable and she gave me a lot of styling tips. I was ready to pay whatever they asked, and was shocked to find out I only owed $34! Trust me, this is a great place. I only wish I'd found it sooner.
