Editorial Review for Chiang Mai Thai – by Florence Byrd

In Short
The Asian-inspired decor is chic and tasteful, from the sleek, cherry-stained furniture and paper-shaded wall sconces to the elegant Asian art that adorns the walls. Its prime location on Calhoun Square makes Chiang Mai a popular starting point for a night of Uptown barhopping--booths are often filled with good-looking 20-somethings sipping cocktails. Don't let its stylish looks fool you: Chiang Mai turns out delicious, authentic northern Thai fare that includes fresh spring rolls and curries.

The perfect uptown place to go if you love to put up with with bad service. Bartender was drunk/high on a Sunday evening unable to comprehend simple orders. Also had a magnificent condescending attitude to everyone she served. I paid $20 for a beer to simply escape the disgusting customer service...waiting for change would be like asking God for a Cadillac. I had much nicer interaction, though much lower expectation, at the McDonald's I went to later.

Pros: None

Cons: Bad staff

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Best Thai I've had in the Cities! My curry was absolutely to die for and our server was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend giving Chiang Mai Thai a try!
