Response to dmnutter07. Dear Karissa Nutter,

We want to say first off thank you for doing business with us we greatly appreciate it. However when I read this review I was very lost in what exactly your complaint is about. When you put the initial down payment on the gown how was your balance not subtracted? Your saying the consultant not give you a remaining balance but when you went back for your 2nd payment the amount was indeed correct... We update our main receipt every time you make a payment, we are not responsible for keeping track of your records on your pink copy. “When my husband went back 2 weeks later to make a payment on the dress they didn't deduct it from our receipt, but he saw that they took it off their copy.”

To further more investigate this situation we pulled your receipt and you last payment was made on Saturday the 5th at 5:00 in the evening and the gown was taken out of the store. The alterations department is closes at 7pm we would have been glad to fit you into and apportionment with this 2 hour time span. We could have worked on the gown all day Sunday and Monday to make sure your garment was ready for prom. We spoke to Mary whom was claimed the “ignorant girl” who is actually a woman and has been part manager in running the alterations department for 3 years now. We really do not appreciate name calling, when in fact we feel that is was ignorant to wait till the last minute to pull your gown our of layaway and try to book an appointment the week of prom. Mary was working yesterday and we asked exactly what had happened. She said, she was sorry that we couldn’t fit you into our appointment but then she explained why. Your prom was on Friday the 11th and you came in for an appointment the evening of Monday the 7th. This would only give us 3 business days to do alterations on your gown. Our staff is fully trained is aware that we will not take an alterations appointment if we do not have 7 days allowed. If are less then 7 days then we issue a rush fee of $50.00. Also Mary looked up you appointment date and time which all booking go through her, and your or daughters name was never even issued an appointment. When you took out your gown on Saturday why didn’t you just book and alterations appointment then. When exactly did you call to make your appointment because our salon is closed on Sundays so there was no way possible we could have even booked you in on that day. We feel as if things are just not matching up with the information you have giving us. We cannot alter which you might think is a “small amount of alterations” when in fact the bust needed to be taken in and a full ballgown hem. This is an immense amount of work that we can not do in the time frame that you have giving us. All of our customers are aware that alterations take time and most of them have had alterations appointments booked well over 3 weeks in advance. We are sorry once again that we could not fit you into our bookings but if we had more time we would have been glad to! Thank you again for your business hopefully now you understand why we could in no way possible get your daughters dress done in that amount of time.

RESPONSE TO NOT SO PERFECT DRESS. We had to tell the girl to take off the initial down pymt. because she didn't do it. When we purchased the dress it looked to fit her well. When I called the store back on Sat and then called alterations, I was told that the dress would be ready for prom on Friday. If she hadn't told me that I would have immediately started looking for someplace else to get the dress altered. WHY WERE WE EVEN MADE AN ALTER. APPT. WHEN SHE KNEW THE DRESS WAS NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY..SHE WAS TOLD!!!!!! MY DAUGHTER WAS GIVEN AN APPT BECAUSE I CALLED ALTERATIONS AND SPOKE TO SOMEONE WHO GAVE US ONE!

Looked for Pageant Gowns.. interesting time.. My daughter is a pageant competitor so we are always out and about searching for new gowns. We purchased a gown from here and we didn't have a bad experience.

The staff was friendly. Yes, most of them are teenagers but they all seemed friendly and like they enjoyed what they were doing.

My only complaint is the lack of knowledge of the staff. I suppose for prom or homecoming a place like this is fine to go to, alls you need is a nice gown to feel pretty in, however for pageantry please stay away.

They claim they have someone who "understands" pageantry but really, they don't. All of the gowns are overpriced and tacky. A 'pageantry expert' will recommend a complete horrid gown for your daughter. We came once when we were inexperienced in pageantry and we bought a dress we were recommended. After all of the experience and knowledge we have gotten, it's amazing to believe we let them trick us like that.

With experience in pageantry, also comes a lot of shopping in other boutiques, shops, etc. Lets just say compared to other shops, PD sucks.

Nonetheless, the icing on the cake was the over-priced alteration services. They where cheaply done and way to expensive. Just cut around the bottom..

I'd give the perfect dress a decent rating but not a good one. They've got a boring selection of gowns. Trashy 16 year olds will love them though!

I had a GREAT EXPERANCE!. I went in looking for the perfect dress and I had such a GREAT experance. The girls there where always right there to zip my dresses as i steped out of the changing rooms. The girls are all so friendly, they where very familar with the style this year and also knew which dresses to put me in! They made me feel very confortable. I would tell anybody to go in there to look for a dress!!

RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!. The truth is, I am lucky enough to be able buy a formal dress anywhere - I usually buy mine from Nordstrom, but in the interest of "buying local" I thought I would take a look at the prom dresses at the Perfect Dress. The staff made me feel like I was invisible... the selection was poor to vegas-like. Back to Nordstrom for me!

What a dump!

Do NOT get alterations here!!!. Terrible experience with this shop! After spending over $500, dress was so terribly altered, it cannot be worn. They got their money, so they obviously didn't care. They gave it to me in a dirty plastic bag with coffee stains on the inside of the dress! I could list everything that was wrong, but I get mad all over again just thinking about it! I buy about 3 pageant dresses each year, and I will never buy another dress from this shop, and I will not let anyone else I know use this store either!!!

Got the job done right!. I have been a very stressed out bride.. like every bride! But Erica really wanted to help me with my gown and really did go out of her way to steam it for me! I have had a positive experience overall and would definitely recommend the shop to others!

P.S. Brides--- just because you're mean to everyone because your anxious and stressed... does Not mean that it is right to take it out on local businesses!

STAY AWAY!!!!!!. By far the WORST Business that I have EVER had to deal with!!!! BRIDES - STAY AWAY!!!!!! The owner is a total NIGHTMARE and the "managers" are 16 year old girls in high-school!!!! The owner is the most unprofessional person I have EVER met!!!!!! After over a month of trying to get bridesmaid dresses, we are taking our business elsewhere!!!!!!! I would rather not have any bridesmaid dresses than have to deal with them for even another minute of my life!!!!

Disappointed. I was very disappointed and frustrated with the Perfect Dress. I ordered my wedding dress, mother of the bride and 5 bridesmaid dresses there. First, they ordered all my bridemaids too large of dresses (size 10 for size 2/4 girls) and they all had to have it taken in many sizes. Secondly, they said my dress would be ready for pick up and when I went to pick it up, it wasn't steamed or ready. Then, the mother of the bride dress alterations were not done professionally or correctly. Her jacket was completely uneven and it looked like a 5th grader sewed it. We went to take it in to have it fixed the day before the wedding and the shop was closed for unexpected reasons. We luckily took it in to Jan's Alterations and they were amazing! They fixed it for free and were mortified the Perfect Dress would give this uneven jacket to a customer. Lastly, I called and asked to speak with the owner, Beth, to let her know of my disappointed and stress the day before my wedding. Beth was unavailable and they said she would call me back. No Call. Called the next day again and talked to Erika, she said her mother would call me back. No Call.

If the Perfect Dress wants to have satisfied customers, then they need to treat everyone with respect and apologize for their mistakes. I would NOT recommend the Perfect Dress.

Horrible experience. I recently was asked to stand up in a wedding and the bride had found her dream dress there. So she decided to also get her bridesmaids dresses there. I was so excited to be in her wedding. They insisted that we order our dresses asap. I am currently living in a different state and they recommended me to measure myself within the day period I had the only thing I had at my apartment to measure myself was a measuring tape! The manger was on the phone with me the whole time and explained the process to me. I measured everything she told me too and all my measurements but one were coming in at a size 2 so they ordered me a size 6. NOT HAPPY. They said the dresses ran small so it would fit my like a glove. When the dress finally came in three months later I made a special trip home and tried on the dress I was swimming. It was absolutely huge.

At this point I am getting cornered because I paid over 200 dollars for this dress and I really didn't want to pay another 200 for alterations. I made an alteration appointment and went in. They alteration lady even said that this dress was huge and that the next size down would have been perfect. She went down and got a hold of the manager and they said they will give me a 20 dollar gift card to buy a new dress or pay 155 dollars to get alterations. At this point I am getting angry because common that is seriously a lot of money. Then I get home and I get a call later in the evening stating that they cannot do anything for me but alter the dress.

I agree to that but guess what the alterations lady isn't in all week. Their hours are terrible. They really do not accommodate for how much money you spend there.

Honestly from my experience I would not recommend anyone to do business here.
