The Best Pizza in Michigan / Possibly the US.
This is the best pizza I have ever had in my life!!! Deep Dish style - I highly recommend the "Detroiter", I got mine with extra sausage in addition to the pepperoni!
This place is simply the best - and not far from Comerica Park / Ford Field. What a great place. Don't miss it.
It's Alright..I Guess.. The Dearborn location is nicer than the Livonia location. Its bigger and less crowded. The pizza is different, but I don't think it should be considered the best of Detroit. The wait staff is average at best. We go for birthdays cause its somewhere all can agree on. You leave full, but might feel your visit lacked something.
Amazing Pizza. Buddy's is a sweet pizza place. Try the salad and breadsticks, Everything is awesome! Perfect Crust and melt in your mouth cheese makes this pizza stand out from the rest.
Why Does the Free Press like this place?. I don't like Buddy's. I live in the area, and I've been there maybe 20 times. I keep going back, thinking that maybe the detroit news saw something that I didn't. There pizza is AVERAGE AT BEST. Nothing else on there menu is good either. Every year they are ranked the number 1 pizza in the Metro detroit area by some news paper, and every year I beat my head against the wall eating there dry, tasteless pizza.
A motor city institution, Buddy's introduced square deep-dish pizza to Detroit..
In Short
Buddy's is a Detroit institution ("since 1946"). It's loud and family-friendly, with TVs everywhere, and serves distinguished, if not risky, pizza; the furthest away from traditional it gets is the gourmet vegetarian pizza with cauliflower and broccoli. The unusual crust is one reason Buddy's delights; it's barely there and yet crisp as can be. A wide range of fried appetizers, homemade soups, burgers, sandwiches and pastas is also available.
The Atmostphere will last a lifetime!. MY Dad use to take me and my brother there back in the 70's as kids.I was 7 or 8 and use to ask my Dad to alway take us there, whenever we visited him.We lived on the Indian Reservation in Canada, my mom and Dad were separated @ that time. I remember the Pizza, square, which I never seen before, was so good and chessy. The people in the place were so friendly and loud. It was dark and cozy then. But I alway remember how good the pizza was, thick and alot of toppings, cooked good. Fast foward to 35 years later, I moved to Lexington,Ky. A US Marine, Beirut, Veteran.a Divorce father of 3 girls, and I still remember the Buddys Pizza Joint. I recently went back home to the "Rez" to see my family and had to stop in and have great pizza and tell my daughters about my young tales of the super tasting pizza of Buddys of old. The pizza and atmostphere brought great childhood memories. The pizza and service was STILL the same friendly and loud, cozy place. As if I never missed a day without Buddys pizza. I hope my daughters put Buddys pizza in their memory file, because they sure enjoy the food and service and of course the tales of old! Thanks buddys pizza for allowing me to remember, having great pizza doesn't hurt either. By the way my mom and dad got back together a few years later and are enjoying their 50 year anniversary!! They still remember those Buddys pizza days. Thanks and Semper FI.
UUUUMMMMMMMM. The best salads great food never had a bad dish good everything there go there at least once a month to sit down and eat have to love the slices a lunch time for when you dont have time to go in or go anywhere to eat (walking from work is fast for me)
Best pizza you'll ever eat. I've traveled all over the country, and eaten pizza at every stop, and I still haven't found a pizza better than Buddy's. Chicago pizzerias are the closest taste-wise, but still can't touch the delicious crust of Buddy's. DO NOT PASS THIS ONE UP!
great taste. Please experience the Buddy's pizza! You will not be disappointed. It has a great taste, very flavorful and quite filling. If pizza is not your thing, then try the lasagna. That is also a great dish. Wash all that down with good "grasshopper" and you will not regret it.
Awfully greasy and slimy. Even at their best times, the pizza at Buddy's is too greasy for my tastes, and seems to have a lot of salt in the sauce. Not a wise choice
