I plan on going to clutch for my birthday.On the 22 of march.I have about 25-30 people going.I have had a blast everytime i went.I live in jackson.I only wish it was'nt that far.I think they do a excellent job with security.I feel safe.It is alot of fun.Yea it gets messy but thats what happens when you have a bunch of people partying.I would recommed that place any day.

Pros: dancing,different spots to hang

If you are planning on not getting any drinks, inhaling a lot of second hand smoke, listening to bad music, looking at unattractive people, and getting thrown out of the club for no reason, Clutch is the place for you. The staff here is the rudest I have ever come across in all my years of clubbing experience. The bartender told someone I was with to f*** off because he could not tip her towards the end of the night, and then my friend proceeded to get thrown out because of it. Also the drinks are way overpriced and the bartenders will lie to you about the prices. The prices somehow magically changed from one bartender to the other. Stay away from Clutch if you dont want to get ripped off, cursed out, and then thrown out on top of it.

The only perk to Clutch Cargo most of the time is that you get in free if you show up before 11. Sometimes they'll have a decent DJ, other times they will not. What is nice is that Clutch is split into pieces so you can see what else is going on if the dance floor fails to impress. Basically, walking into Clutch you feel dirty. You and everything you wear will instantly reek of smoke. There is a whole barrage of foreign men trying to grope you (and they often succeed whether you want them to or not). These guys are truly gross; they'll kiss you, spank you, and lick you without your permission, probably because you wouldn't give them any. The girls are usually the same crowd each week, making Clutch a subculture of the foreign and the attention starved. Stay away from Clutch if you're looking for a sophisticated time or don't want to smell of smoke; if you really have nothing better to do on a Saturday night, Clutch might be for you.

Pros: Free entrance

Cons: Parking fees, smoke, foreign men, no free entrance after 11

I used to go to Clutch Cargo's all the time with my friends' I have not been there in over a year and a half. When I used to go I loved it! Always had a great time. Danced to the music non stop all night long. It did get a little crowded on the main floor and hard to move around. Other than that I would reccommend it to anyone who is just barely 18 or the clubbing age. Now that I am older I would not go again. Kind of for the younger crowd.

Pros: good music, lot's of floors, hot guys

Cons: main floor crowded, not very good service, expensive drinks

Went to see 3 Doors Down at Clutch Cargos. The band was awesome, but the venue sucked! They had security serches outside in the freezing cold (this is Michigan, right?), and it took forever just to get into the door! The staff was rude; and the worst part of it was that unless you arrive well before the doors open (and stand outside in the freezing cold) it's impossible to view the stage very well at all! The venue is narrow and long. People mashing themselves against railings just to get a glimps. Never again!

Pros: Good music

Cons: Crowded, Rude staffing

One of those places that can either be lots of fun or a big disappointment...Awesome location...Drinks WAY too expensive...Not too many hot women...

Clutch is the place to go when you want to go out , have some fun, but aren't sure exactly where to go. The DJ's are always mixing up some good dance music no matter what you like to hear, and there's lots of intersting little spots to hang out in. big mix of people too. So if you are in just a mood to chill with friends you got the lounge areas, or if you are ready to get wild and crazy you have the 2nd and 3rd floors. Lots of opportunities for fun!

Cons: can get crowded

Ugly people--mostly foreign, expensive drinks, not worth it at all--try out 'Have a Nice Day', 'Tiki Bobs' , or 'Tonic' ---all better bars down the street!!!
