Our first mistake was making sure to get there during happy hour only to be told that it's only happy hour in the bar. (So the lesson is to stop in the bar and have a drink before getting a table). Our second mistake was not going there completely famished. We ordered a calamari diablo appetizer -- lightly fried, very tasty with nice marinara sauce -- which would have been a good appetizer for four. After eating that, a piece of bread and the large salads that came with our meals, we were pretty much full. Oh yeah, and a little apertif plate with shrimp, salami, peppers and black olives too. For the entree, my wife had the frutti di mare (seafood) spaghetti. She was disappointed in the texture -- not "al dante" enough for her taste. However she is very picky in this regard and most people around these parts would probably find it just fine. I had the seared scallops. It was nice but I couldn't enjoy it since I was already full. We packed up 75% of our dinners. Of course part of the reason we packed it in so quickly was so that we could order dessert. The desserts were also very large. We selected a yummy tiramisu, one of which could easily provide dessert for three people (or four in Japan). The server was very friendly and helpful with navigating the wine and food menus. The atmosphere was a little informal (wooden tables, no tablecloths) even though the prices were a little on the formal side ($20 pastas, $30 entrees). We ended up spending $120 on two which includes $20 of wine. All things considered, a good value for the money.
Pros: large portions, large menu

I had one of the best meals of my life at Larco's West Bloomfield. I came with my family we ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. I was stunned at the size of them. Couldnt have been happier then that, but when my Filet Siciliano came out and i dipped it in that zip sauce i knew i was in heaven. The service, ambience, and food are all top notch. And the price is very reasonable. It's impossible to leave this restaurant hungry. Happy hour is good for half the price.
Pros: Private Dining Room
