Inman Perk Coffee

I have been a customer of Inman Perk for several years ... I keep coming back because of the friendly service and great iced coffee! Their quiche is wonderful! They heat it up on the panni grill and it just melts in your mouth! Definately give it a try! I do miss the comfy sofas that used to be on their front patio.

Pros: Great coffee ; Great Quiche

The staff at Inman Perk always looked p1ssed off. And mayeb they have a right to be. I know they must make cr@p for tips as the laptop yuppies abound. Not to mention the fact that Inman Perk prices have skyrocketed in the last few months. It must also be difficult to tell your friends with a straight face that you work at a coffeeshop named "Inman Perk." Everytime I see the name I want to backhand someone...so I can't imagine what the employees must face on a daily basis. Again, it seems to be a case of a business owner trying to keep up with the Starbucks's. There seems to be no love of coffee at this cafe'. The coffeemakers (I don't want to call them baristas--a barista trains for months to learn the essence of coffee---these are teens with no coffee knowledge whatsoever) are petulant and clueless. The coffee itself is the usual drak roasted charcoal used to cover up bad beans. The espresso, may or not be good. All I can taste is dirty machine and stale coffee oils---clean your hoppers, clean your portafilters, clean your goupheads THEN make coffee. Here's an experiment to try. Order a latte. See how long it takes for the coffeemaker on duty to give you a scalded cup of seafoam looking milk with bad espresso. Try and drink it. Time the interval between consumption and hurling. (Not recommended for pregnant of nursing women) If you want a place check your email and have a sandwich--a paninnus if you will--then the Perk is for you. Well, either the Inman Perk or your office cafeteria.

Pros: lots of places to plug in

It's funny to read reviews that you know are coming from other coffee stores in Atlanta! (Ha ha ha, Parish? Is that what you do after you consume a drink there?) Maybe they should try changing there name first before they go to spamertising! When will people realize that this makes them look bad? Amidst a sea of wanna-bes, Inman Perk is the real deal. Simple and to the point. A family owned shop from top to bottom, it is the one coffee store in Atlanta that is trying to do something different. Being a local coffee connoisseur, I happen to know that there are about 3 coffee vendors that supply all of Atlanta (Counter Culture, Intelligentsia, Batdorf & Bronson). Aside from decor, you are pretty much getting the same cup of coffee everywhere you go . . . except for Inman Perk. It cracks me up when people compare two Counter Culture cafes together like they have a different product. It's all the same beans people! It's a sad state of taste in Atlanta these days. Coming from Seattle, I expect cafes to be as unique as their coffee . . . Inman Perk (although it faces a lot of mom and pop start up problems) at least has broken the grip of the major bean vendors on Atlanta (quite an amazing feat actually). Finally, I can enjoy a different cup of coffee.

Pros: A completely different taste profile, not the same beans, family owned

Cons: It's hard to find a seat sometimes, wireless has problems from time to time

if you want to waste money on crappy coffee and the worst service go ahead. inman perk coffee is the worst in the city. you might want to go to starbucks and save yourself the frustration. the staff is beyond lazy, the owners borderline on mental retardation, and coffee is never consistent. the food is below par and the half & half is always spoiled. the owners don't care about anything except money, not quality of product or quality of service. I wouldn't take a bunch of homeless people in there to use the bathroom. there is a nice cafe up the street called Parish. amazing decor, great people, and good coffee....oh and free wi-fi out on their porch.

Pros: they have free water

Cons: worst of the worst

I visited the Inman Perk Emory location a few times - excellent coffee; however, the store manager is one of the most unfriendly people i have ever met. She never smiles and always has this solemn look on her face. When I asked if they had organic milk, she snapped, "no, and don't expect it anytime in the future either" and went on to say that they would have to double their prices. She also said that many people have asked for organic milk. Is this not something Inman Perk can provide for an extra cost? I have paid 50 cents extra at Starbucks for organic milk, and would do so at Inman Perk too if it was available. Also, it would be nice to know if they are using rbGH-free milk. Publics brand milk is rbGH free but from what i could see in their fridge, they did not stock that milk. They say they are a family business but everything about it feels cold and corporate. I also had a brownie there that tasted like chemicals for some reason. But i do want to reiterate - their coffee is amazing, the best in town. i mean that, the best coffee you can get in Atlanta is at Inman Perk. I rated it below average because what makes a place above average is their service & ability to cater to conscious consumers, both of which are lacking at Inman Perk.

Pros: the best coffee you will ever have

Cons: unfriendly store manager, no organic milk choice

This coffee shop used to be one of my favs, but lately everything seems off about it. Most of the original staff is gone, the prices shot up....the energy there is so bad now. What used to be a fun, carefree place has really become unpleasant. I mean, the manager glares at you when you're just sitting there! I've heard more than one person complain about feeling uncomfortable. It seems like instead of wanting to sell a good product and have a relationship with the customers, the new management's policy is to be super polite while ripping people off. I'll stick with Aurora and Octane, thank you.

I went there tonight with my boyfriend just to grab something to eat that was close by and we both got a pininni. They were amazing! i will def be back for more! in fact, i asked my bf what time they open in the morning bc i wanted to get another the next day!

We live right around the corner from this place and walk our dog there alot and pick up some coffee togo. It's usually busy in there, but not really a long wait. Their coffee is good. But their smoothies are not made with real fruit, so if you want a smotthie you are better off going to Whole foods.

The first time I went here I ordered a smoothie which was fantastic, next time a Chai latte- I mainly just come here for smoothies now, the tea was good but I've had better. They have artwork hanging up that you can buy, and it changes periodically. The couches are comfy but the tables aren't very sturdy (both me and this guy sitting across from me had our feet up-he moved-table leg broke...and I'm no elephant), but I think they might have replaced it with two small tables, whatever. They also have a stock of books if you don't have anything to read (or don't have your laptop), and one of the employees even let me borrow one once on a 'good faith' policy. The patio is nice as well- large area, chairs and tables. Whenever I've been there they play Bjork and Regina Spektor a lot.

New coffee shop in a cute district on the East side of town with a very relaxed atmosphere for enjoying a good cup of coffee. It's a sister shop to Joe's Coffee in the East Village and is worthy of the same reputation. Good staff with excellent selection of coffee drinks. Their coffee is better than anything that's at a Starbucks and its ambiance is worth the visit.

Pros: First class coffee, best seating in the city for a cup with comfortable coaches
