Called to see what the wait was..said no wait for 2. Drove there in 10 min and they said they are full and booked for the night. Happened to my family too on another night. Do not support people who run a restaurant like this. The worst I have ever seen!
Pros: Leaving
Cons: Going there

Before I moved to Florida in June 2007 I spent many wonderful Saturday lunches and dinners at O'Mara's. It was my family's favorite place to go. I can't even count the number of times I have enjoyed this restaurant and it is the only thing about Michigan that I miss. The food is a marvel for such an area as Berkley and the ambiance is very relaxing. They always greeted me when I came in and my family actually became good friends with some of the wait staff. In 10 years I have only had one bad meal and it was very minor and easily remedied. It is a local treasure.

This Restaurant does not welcome its costumers and has a horrible service. About a month ago we went to dine in this restaurant. It was around 11 pm when we entered the restaurant and ordered our food and after 20 minutes of waiting the waitress comes and tells us that their kitchen is closed now and we will not receive our food because her manager said so. I do not understand, if a restaurant decides to close within 20 minutes why do they accept customers and make them order their food and wait for 20 min then simply kick them out b/c their kitchen is closed? Anyway I do not recommend anyone to go experience their rude management and feel not welcomed.

We were very impressed with their Sunday brunch! It lasts until 2:30! Hardly anywhere else around has a late brunch, and I'm afraid some people are really missing out on this great buffet. One price, and a great variety of breakfast and lunch foods, that even includes made to order omelettes. Nothing extravagant, but very comfortable. We were very pleased with the food and the service, and they even have an outdoor patio and live music on the weekends!

I have been to this place many times. Very consistant comfort food. I love their chicken O'Mara, basically an italian chicken Tosca with artichokes and a lemon butter sauce to die for. The New York strip is perfectly done and the bread is hot and homemade. The chef is a big fat guy who really knows how to eat and what tastes good. The atmosphere is dimly lit and the tables are a bit too close together. This place gets crowded on weekends so go early. The bar is usually crowded with 50+ types trying to pick something up, but the restaurant is decent.
Pros: Chicken O'Mara, N Y Strip, Comfort Food
Cons: Close table, A bit of a dive

Very clean, wait staff very attentive, owner very personable. Dishes are very good, nice-sized portions. Desserts are EXCELLENT!! Try the Lemon Meringue Pie, awsome! Prices are not too staggering, but a little upscale. Lunch with dessert around $16.00 without alcoholic drink. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting good food and good atmosphere without long waiting times. Moderately expensive.
Pros: Good Parking, Not a long wait

A great menu with lots of interesting dishes to choose from! Everyting is super yummy and every dish is prepared with care. Even the meatloaf is a heavenly experience ( It looks like a great big slice of a torte). They have entertainment too. Its a very nice atmosphere, but you can still wear jeans. the service is very attentive as well.

Excellent crabcakes, caesar salads, fish, and my favorite soup! Service was great as well as the atmosphere. Live entertainment every night and a very cute waiter!
