We arrived at 7pm and were seated immediately. A half hour later we had to ask if we had a waitress. An hour and a half later we finally got our food, which was the special. One dinner had a portion so small it was shameful. The other was overcooked and tough, which is hard to do for lobster. The food was terrible and cold. Even though it was obvious that we were not happy no member of management even came to say they were sorry for the bad service and/or food. We didn't leave till almost 9pm, making this one of the longest and worst meals ever.

Pros: Our waitress, Kathryn, was very nice and said she was sorry for the poor food and service

Cons: the wait to get served, the food was terrible, and the management couldn't care less

My wife and I have gone to dine at Mario's on a regular basis. Nick has been our waiter in the past and was excellent and had a great attitude. But our food was salty... Nick tried to make everything better. Next we went there on a Saturday and they were very busy. Amy was our waitress and was very pollite and very friendly. Service was prompt and she was right on. My wife is generally not impressed with service but in both cases these people were great and treated us with nothing less than excellence. We have had some other servers that were ok. But we will ask for these servers in the future!!!

Pros: SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE

Cons: Management is poor, KENO TICKETS ON TABLES...IS TRASHY

My wife and I went there for our birthday dinners; made a reservation. Got there at 7p.m.--didn't need one. A couple of ball-cap, t-shirted guys at the booths. We sat in the glass doored, elevated portion of the restaurant. The table covers were paper...torn off a roll and placed over a much used tablecloth. The several noticible lumps(glasses would tip) under the paper were crumbs and food pieces left over from some past diner's meal. We moved to a corner table so we wouldn't have to listen to the large sports screen in the adjoining dining area. The other table not only had similar lumps of old food, but it had some child's crayon drawings on the paper underneath the top layer of paper. We had two martinis--they were okay--not great, just okay. The dinner was pricey. You think there might be some correlation between the price and the quality of the food. There wasn't. The food was tasteless, and I think my meat was a left over from the day before and just warmed up...it was covered with a god-awful, thick muck which they pretended was gravy. It covered up the taste of the meat, but not its stiffness. Run away is good advice. We will never eat there again.

Do not waste your time or money at this restaurant. We went there with a $25 gift certificate which the owner refused to honor, even though it was specifically for his restaurant. Not only did he refuse to honor it, but he was also rude and abrasive in his refusal after we asked our waitress to see him. For a restaurant owner to think so little of his patrons and treat them in this manner is beyond reason and is inexcusable. The food was so-so, but overpriced for this type of restaurant. The silverware was not very clean, and seeing that takes away from your appetite. The ambiance left something to be desired. You would expect to see a large-screen TV in a sports bar, not in a place like what this pretends to be. Not going back, ever.

I was very surprised to see the negative reviews. I have gone with a group of friends and the service and food were excellent. My wife arrived earlier than the rest of our group and told us that the wait staff was very friendly and attentive while she was waiting. There was a small jazz trio for "free" entertainment. We saw many families, with children, that seemed to be enjoying themselves. And, we plan on going for a birthday celebration in the near future. We wouldn't be returning or recommending it to our friends if it didn't meet or exceed our expectations.

Pros: Nice decor, great meat sauce, attentive service

Cons: None

This place should close their doors. The food is not worth the money and the service is horrible, The blonde hostess was rude and the owner manager seemed to care less that our meals came out wrong and cold and was very argumentative and abrasive. Customer service is lacking and so is the quality of food...especially for the price. Not to mention that on Saturday night there was hardly anyone in the restaurant...that's a sure sign that most people know NOT to go there. I wish I had known before we tried this place.

Pros: location

Cons: food, service, everything

Run Away ! There are TOO many other choice in the area. They will not treat you the same if you try to use one of their discount ads/coupons. Customer service is lacking...they just want your money.

We made reservations here to celebrate our 1st anniversary. We should have turned around and left when we arrived and the reservation hadn't even been recorded. We were sat at a table that wasn't even set then proceeded to wait at least 15 minutes before being acknowledged by a server. I keep asking myself, why didn't we leave then? It was because reviews of the food here were phenomenal. We had plenty of time to observe the disheveled waitstaff and the 70's motiff decor. When our food did arrive, my veal parmesan was like a piece of jerky and my wife's chicken marsala was bathing in grease. We have had better Italian food at Sbarro's at the local mall. We were under the impression that this place was upscale, at least that is what all the write ups about it implied. Let's just say this place makes the Olive Garden look like fine dining. All in all, a very disappointing meal and atmosphere...you are better off at the chain Italian restaurants such as Carraba's or Bravo.

Whether I am eating at their Restaurant in Detroit or Troy they have the best Italian meat sauce I have ever eaten and their Lamb Chops are literally to die for. We have several Italian Restaurants in our area but Marios home meat sauce is far superior.

Pros: Wonderful Food

Cons: None
