The food here is always wonderful, fresh and well priced. The manager is very friendly and makes you feel as if you enetered their kitchen. The service was fantastic - so caring and attentive. The citrus glazed salmon was unbelievable! My husband had the Kona encrusted strip steak which melts in your mouth. The strip steak was charred to perfection and there was not a drop left on the plate! The wine was affordable and wonderful. The chocolate dessert was scrumptious. The wait staff was professional, courteous and made our evening so special. This place is certainly on my short list of great places to come back to. Wish I could eat here every night.

Our new favorite place, the food is a little expensive, but well worth the experience. The place is very clean, the servers are very professional and the food is out of this world. They have one of the best wine list in oakland county.

Pros: Everything about this place

Cons: none

The Capital Grille has been a mainstay in the Metro Detroit community for over 10 years, and ever since I moved here from Chicago (restaurant Capital of the midwest!), it has been my favorite spot for after-work drinks in the lounge as well as special occassion and business dining. It is a place where I walk in the door and people remember my name, bartender Debbie remembers the way I like my martinis, servers intuitively know what I need and how much attention I need them to shower upon my guests. Hostesses at the door are all beautiful, seasoned professionals that greet me with the same warmth that they greet the business men that come daily. There are many upscale touches that make me feel pampered. Love the white linen-covered tables, candle lit ambiance and power crowd. My favorite steak is the Kona-crusted Sirloin and the original Stoli Doli martini. Have you tried the new Grapefruit Buck cocktail? Delicious. Lounge is always friendly and bustling and they just added three new dining rooms so I can now think about throwing my sister's shower here or planning my own rehearsal dinner here (when I meet Mr. Right in the lounge) in the beautiful new private rooms. Despite the new restaurants opening around town, this continues to be a stellar stand out that effectively overshadows the dining alternatives.

Pros: complimentary parking, located in the Somerset Collection Mall

Cons: need Saturday evening reservations

The spicy fried calamari appetizer was good, except that it could use less salt. Both the filet mignon and Delmonico steak was very good, though the latter was a little more to my taste(I have yet to try the Kona sirloin). The streak is huge and the meat is good. The service was definitely good and the atmosphere's pretty nice. The lobster bisque and clam chowder are both very good soups. The side order, mashed potatoes and mushroom sautee was also a nice choice. In general, I liked this place. Surely it is a pricy dinner, but for a special occassion, especially when one's a steak lover, it would be a good choice.

Pros: Good (and big) steak, good service

Cons: Pricy

I eat out at restaurants probably five times per week between lunch and dinner so I experience all types and levels of dining (as background). I am always skeptical of other people's comments about service so I'll sum up this way. Servers are generally nice but their skill lies in their attentiveness to detail. Our particular server could have had an off night because the attention to detail was lacking. With respect to the food and drink... my third drink was watered down when it arrived and I sent it back. I requested medium rare and got nearly well done and sent that back. The appetizers arrived lukewarm. We were dining a group of four on a Wednesday night. The bar was 110% full and it seems to me like this place has a halo effect of people saying that they like it just because they realize how much money they spent on it. I didn't even have to pay for the dinner and it was unsatisfying. When I was recently asked to go back there, I declined. I am sure I should give it another shot because a refined opinion on just one occasion is not possible. So for now, I rate it just plain 5.0 average. By the way, the tables are particularly close so if you want to discuss private matters it is difficult.

Pros: Lots of hot people in the bar made it fun to wait for the table...

Cons: Leaving the bar to go eat...

My husband and I recently dined at The Capital Grille and it was the best night out I can remember having in a long time! The most memorable thing about our visit was the Service we experienced from the moment we walked through the door! There were so many delicious items on the menu and I didn't know what to choose but our server suggested some of her favorites and I ended up getting a Surf and Turf. The Filet was so tender and the Lobster was already taken out of the shell, ready to dip in butter and eat! My husband LOVED his Dry Aged Porterhouse and the creamed spinach was big enough to share! We truly appreciated our server's assistance with our wine selection as well, as the wine list includes every region of the world and every price range! The wine, the food and the dessert were wonderful, and the atmosphere was so friendly and comfortable! I cannot wait to return to The Capital Grille again soon!

Pros: We were treated so special! The food was mouth-watering!

Cons: Too many choices! I want to try them all.

My husband and I dines here for our anniversary and we have been craving it ever since. Blows all of the other steak places out of the water (Ruth's Chris, Shula's, Chop House etc...) Try the Kona Crusted Steak with Carmelized Shallot Butter.....TO DIE FOR!!! Our server was wonderful and receommended a fabulous bottle of wine. Yes, it is a bit pricy, but for special occasions, it can't be beat!
