A sort of half-way house for recovering mega-store CD shoppers.

Dearborn Music is one of those no-frills, indie record stores that, while it may not boast underground cred or a rabid niche market, gets the job done and then some. With a broad new CD selection--that also happens to be pretty deep in a few genre areas--and a decent, selective used stock, Dearborn Music is a reliable one-stop shop.

Whether I'm looking for a new Top 40 release, South African gospel, or a specific jazz cd, I find what I'm looking for at Dearborn music almost without fail. They've got a decent selection of used cds & dvds for the discs I'd like to have but don't want to pay through the nose for. To top it all off the friendly staff is more than happy to order anything in print that they don't have in stock (just be prepared to wait).
- Pros: selection, staff
- Cons: parking
