OH COME ON
by GET SERIOUS at Citysearch
OBVIOUSLY all the good reviews here were written by OWNERS UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES. This place is a JOKE. One waitress runs the WHOLE operation, because she has DIRT on the owners. She is BEYOND rude to customers. The food is ridiculously overpriced, and really NOT that good.
- Pros: good deli food
- Cons: rude wait staff, WAY TOO OVERPRICED
Bad service

I dined here recently and fount the food OK and the service not very good. My friend lives in Northville and gets pizza to go frequently and says they are very good. I'll have to check the pizza's out next.
- Pros: Easy to get a table
- Cons: Service
Real facts

Not only are the owners incopetant, rude and usually drunk. The food is struggling to be mediocre (but overpriced) and this restaurant has been convicted of numourous citations from the Department of Health, OSHA, and the federal and state labor departments. Eat at your own risk!!!
- Pros: location
- Cons: everything else
Poor service
by travler2 at Citysearch
The food was fair the service was poor. The couple sitting at an adjacent table agreed, if you were a regular/local the wait staff was very attentive. If not - eat up and get out of our way because you are very much an inconvenience to us. My view is it wasn't a place I would go back to. There are too many good establishments arounf the Detroit market that treat a customer well.
- Pros: None I can think of
- Cons: Unresponsive wait staff
Dissapointed, but good deli

I have to say I have not had the ambiance of a meal in the restaurant. I have ordered food there several times and have not been impressed. We were given giftcards last Chrristmas and were excited when we ordered the lamb chops to take back to our business to eat. (We work nearby) I presented our gift card which was returned with a sorry. Our friends were given cards with no money loaded on them. Were we embarrassed when we told them we had to pay for the meal, we didn't tell them it was undercooked and cold. They got their money back for the cards. I've also had wrong food given to me on orders. I go back because Northville has so few choices. There sandwiches are good, also the prepared food in deli. Just my bad luck I think. Looks like many others have had a better expieience than my wife and I.
The Best EVER - Very Highly Recommended

WOW! What a great destination. Tucked into a residential side street in sleepy Downtown Northville is this slice of Italy. Set up like an Italian village, Little Italy has an excellent "ristorante", a way cool bar (Bacchus Bar) for casual dining with more spirit selections than I have ever seen in my life, the lower level wine cellar is incredible, and the neatest Italian market/pizzeria carry-out (Hutton Street Market) jam packed with wine and Italian specialties. They have a great selection of ready to heat and eat foods and bottle their own sauces. The best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. Great steaks (try the fillet), seafood, homemade pastas. The market carry-out pizzas are also available in the bar (a must try). Top notch high quality food and a super waitstaff make you feel better than family. Overall, an incomparable experience. Handsdown, my favorite restaurant. THANK YOU Little Italy!
- Pros: The Food. The Wine. Onsite Parking (By-The-Door Parking For Carry-Out.)
- Cons: Hard to find. Can get very busy.
NOTHING BAD can be said!!! I love it here!!!

First of all, I don't know how anyone can say ANYTHINGbad about this place! The ambiance is warm, the size is intimate & inviting, the service is nice & the food tastes great! I would bring anyone here for any occassion...even a friend proposed to his girlfriend here. Forget the review below this one...Little Italy is wonderful.
A delightful old house-turned-Italian restaurant, this downtown Northville gem is decorated in true eclectic fashion.

In Short
With exotic liquor bottles dressed in melted candle wax resting on counter tops, the decorators wisely decided to skip the red and white checked tablecloths. Care has been taken to balance traditional Italian favorites such as chicken marsala, with tastes that have more recently made their way on to the Italian-American flavor scene, such as the tortellini di zucca. The chef's specials are generally creative and fresh, mixing a chicken, seafood, and pasta selection.
Poor service

We were very disappointed by the service. The atmosphere is so-so as well. Very overpriced for what you get.

- Cons: Service
Sempre squisito!

Little Italy always delights in so many ways - you'll never be disappointed! We've been fans of the restaurant since they opened in 1988. If you want to experience a quality menu along with great ambiance, don't spend your money at some Italian chain eatery, spend your money at Little Italy.
- Pros: Menu, Bar, Wine List
- Cons: Too small for groups
