I was out for my brother's dauther's wedding and Comfort, historic charm and river views ARE NOT among the reasons to stay at this warehouse district hotel. Rooms are very dark, restaurant is in the basement ... very drab! WI-FI does not work! Not safe to walk outside DAY or NIGHT!!! The worst of the Omni Hotel chain!!! Need a car or taxi to get around Detroit. Would not RECOMMEND this hotel at all! This was our first and last time staying at this hotel! To enjoy your stay go to the Grosse Points for dining and shopping.

We stayed here in April, 2006 for our anniversary. The hotel called us a day before our arrival to see if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. Our room overlooked the river. Very romantic at night. The hotel staff was exceptional in every way. We were addressed by name by every employee we encountered during our stay. To say that the staff goes above and beyond is truely an understatement. We will be back in May for my hubby's birthday. The only drawback was that the pool is located off site from the hotel.

My wife and I were coming to Detroit to catch a concert at Chene park. We decided to stay overnight and needed a hotel to stay at. We decided to stay at The Omni because it was (very) close to the park. I must say I was pleased as well as surprised at how luxurious the place was. The people were nice and accomodating. Checked in and out with ease. We liked it so much we will be back on 8/31/2002 to catch another show and spend the night. Look Out Omni We're Coming Back!!
