WOW I can't get over the negative reviews! I am a pizza connessiour and was introduced to Comos in 1999. I have eaten in the restaurant, had pizza delieverd, and carried out. I may have a few complaints about the restaurant but NEVER, NEVER the pizza! It is what Comos is known for! I have never ordered another item from the menu and I never will. The pizza is freakin phenominal! I will admit it seems to have changed just a bit but not enough to drop it from my top in Michigan. And I have eaten at most pizza joints from Jefferson all the way up to 211 in the Mio area hours North of here. I live approx 30 minutes away from Comos and never think twice when I want pizza (even though there are pizza joints everywhere around me) I go to Comos. I take friends/family/business to Comos when they come into town. This restaurant was the first place I took my, now, finance when he flew into Michigan for the first time to meet me in 2007. Now we are engaged and it's where he asks to go everytime he comes to town it is also the reason why I would consider having my wedding rehersal dinner there (provided I can get into the banquet room upstairs for this event). Yes the service has changed. It is no where near as exceptional as it used to be. I can agree with that! I don't order anything but pizza so I cannot comment on any of the other food or portion sizes. What I can say is that to order an X-Large (which is freakin huge) with pepperoni and bacon and two sodas it never costs me over $25.00 and that is with refills on drinks and tip. Soooo if you think that $25.00 is too much to spend on a meal with tip included and you have pizza left to take home afterwards then my advice is that you shouldn't be eating out at all! Fast food delivery pizza can cost more than that and isnt any where near as good! One last thing...Whomever the BIGOT is writing the hate that my eyes had to skim over and read.....Good riddance to you! Comos won't miss you at all!!!!!!

Pros: Pizza, Ambience at indoor bar, Outdoor patio in summer, Owners, Hours

Cons: Service, Seating could be a long wait at peak hours, Parking, Management, Seating very crowded in restaurant if you're not in a booth

More than a review on the restaurant, I would like to address some of the views on the previous dinners. It's a sad day when someone can base their restaurant experience by the orientation of the patrons, and servers. It takes a true biggot to put in words what I just read. While I agree food and drinks leave a lot to be desired, I could never base my opinion on the lifestyles of those surrounding me during dinner. The prices would have ohnestly been a better way to go in the area of negative reviews. I know this is not New York, LA, or even Chicago, but please leave your sad feeble minded opinions of people off of this wonderful site.

Pros: No matter who you are you are always welcome at Como's.

Cons: That does include biggots.

Why does every establishment, especially restuarants and bars in this area have to be of a particular persuasion? I remember when you used to come here for pizza, salad and a few beers and have a good time. Why do I have to see this "in my face" when I come into a pizza place? What's next.......waiters in drag? They got rid of their entire wait staff and replaced them with new people that really should leave their "different lifestyles" at home. Talk like men....you were born that way..........sorry! I don't need to see this when I go out to eat at a pizza joint! AND the pizza is crap!....bring back the old recipe and get rid of those so called waiters. Is this a pizza place or a want to be nightclub looking for an identity..............

Pros: NONE

Cons: used to have decent pizza

We walked into the "non smoking area" which was empty when we arrived and soon after we sat down, we were unpleasantly entertained by an old loud mouth waiter "tongue lashing" another waiter for being late, to the point of which the other waiter was crying!...crying?...there's no crying in being a waiter!..... Hmmm.....seems to me that if you want to discuss employee situations, please take it to the back room, outside or office,NOT in view of customers. Sorry Michael, dry your eyes, but you were late. We ordered an extra large pizza and large antipasto to make sure we had plenty to take home. The salad arrived and we both looked at each other and said, Are they cutting back? Our waiter,Jason, was put off by our comment and said that they had the same salad maker for 10 years. That may have been true, but for $10.00 , I expect a bit more, actually a lot more. He took our sald bowl and arrived with it properly proportioned. Nice try,Jason, but you should have arrived with a fresh new bowl. That's only professional and expected in the food business, especially with all the problems of contamination. The pizza arrived and was terrible looking and tasted like cardboard. Our guess is it must of been either old or severly stretched beyond it's limits to the point of being unedible. Our last visit, by the way ,was around Easter time which we were treated to a pleasant waitress and good pizza and ample salad. Obviously, you changed too much, possibly owners, and definetly the waitstaff. Your waiters need to keep their "lifestyle"at home. No hugging guys,Last I checked, this is a "family restaurant", Ferndale or not. In your haste to become the "in spot" in Ferndale, you are losing one very important part of a successful business and that is your old customers, old and young. In essence, REPEAT BUSINESS. Sad to say,but WE WILL NOT BE BACK.. CUISINE REVIEW

Pros: None

Cons: Bad management decisions to hire new waiters..... bad dough or changed recipe,YUCK!

First of all, the manager of this place is a pompous loser. So if you have a complaint, there is no point in talking to the manager. We attended a party there, where all of the food tasted like fish. The area I was sitting at smelled like urine. The workers were rude. It was just all around BAD. Especially the manager. What an a**.

Cons: Everything

If you don't mind noise and smoke and plan to put a buzz on, definately go ! If you want a fairly priced, peaceful and organised meal that tastes good, along with good friendly service, it probably will disappoint you ! I ate there yesterday with four other adults and a child and could have better food and service at fricken BIG BOY FOR HALF THE PRICE !! Seriously. ......... "oh man, their pizza is the best! how can you say that?" yeah yeah yeah, Pizza is not difficult to make, you can get a pizza about every 1/2 mile in Ferndale. If I do go there again I hope that it is late and I have a good buzz on and won't care. Dan P.S. A cup of milk for a child is 2.50 and they charge 2.75 for a bread basket-DO GO TO MARIA'S OR PASQUALE'S, MORE PREDICTABLE AND TASTY. CHOW-

Pros: Let's Party !

Cons: Highly overpriced average food, naive waitstaff.

Be careful when you eat at como's !!!!!!!!!!!! The alcohol is good but the food is old and reused. Ask how fresh the sauces are because they never throw anything out............The workers will get fired for watching out for your best interest................Don't eat the salad you will get sick..........Drink the water only from the bar area...........you can taste the difference .......even the owner with all her drama won't drink the water...........BEWARE Danger........

If you don't care about paying too much for crappy food then como's is your resturaunt. I should say ,however, that the pizza is at least average. The rest of the menu is NOT worth a damn. The spagetti suace is not as good as jarred generic from the local dollar store, not only that it is over priced and over rated..........................That being said I love this place!!!! The atmosphere is great, ecspecially in the summer. there is a huge back patio with bar. It feel like your hanging out at a friends back yard party. Go for drinks and pizza and don't waste your money on anything else. don't experiment or sample just stick to the za and maybe a salad.

The only thing I would go for is the pizza. The food is just okay and overprice for what you get. I went once to the brunch and would never go again. It was really bad and again overpriced. Everything at the brunch is done very cheap and tried to look good. Great bar though, inside and outside. I would go back for the bar and the pizza.

Pros: The pizza, the indoor and outdoor bar.

Cons: The brunch and the rest of the menue

Great atmosphere, especially in the summer outside. Great people watching and fab pizza. The steak is awesome too! Stays open late on the weekends for the after bar crowd, or just go there great bar scene. A stable in fashionable ferndale

Pros: everything else

Cons: loud
