Pegged as Detroit's only L.A.-style rock-and-roll night club.

In Short
In the '80s, Detroiters wanted rock, not disco, so they decided to build a club designed for rock and roll. Decorated with a personal collection of memorabilia--old records, posters, vintage guitars--the club also displays autographed photos and guitars. With a heavy-metal clientele, the club features shows like the KISS and Iron Maiden tributes. It also offers live music most nights, featuring bands like Genitorturers, Loudmouth, and Iced Earth, plus there's free pool on Wednesdays.
Still one of the best live music bars

Where to start with the I-Rock? The worst thing anyone can say is that there isn't a lot of parking. Besides that, they're one of the best small settings to see live music. They've been around forever, and they're still doing what they do best, which is filling the place when the local bands are playing. I highly recommend I-Rock for anyone who is a true fan of live local (or national) music. Their sound is as good as any small setting in the Metro-Detroit area (better than a lot of them), the drink prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. If you get there early, you can see 3 or 4 bands, usually for $5. Best entertainment value in town. There's space to dance when the bands are playing, if you're so inclined, and they have pool tables or darts to keep you occupied between sets.
