The city's quintessential Irish sports bar attracts some of Motown's most sporty crowds.

by Contributor

In Short
This Corktown staple is a favorite watering hole of Tigers and Red Wings fans. Framed sports sections and newspapers adorn the walls, as do autographs of local sports greats. A tin ceiling and wood bar make for a sentimental feel. Nemo's is in the center of St. Patrick's Day festivities, but take advantage of the other 364 days of the year to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.

Nothing Irish about it...

by irishkat_17

Good place to go to if your going to a game and want a shuffle over...But this bar shouldn't even be in the Irish catagory! There is Nothing Irish about it!! Just because your located in Corktown, doesn't make you an 'Irish' bar.

However, if you want to talk sports, if you want to play keno, heck even if your looking for a ticket to a game...this is the bar.

  • Pros: good service, good location, fun atmosphere
  • Cons: Not an Irish bar

burgers + shuttle is more than worth it

by awkdover

We always drive to Nemo's if we're going a Tigers game. SI has it right: great sports bar, and a great burger. Plus, you take the shuttle to/from the Bank (comerica) and beat the crowds going home. (ok, ok, what crowds.........it's the Tigers).

  • Pros: fenced parking

Best Bar

by goldhawk

This is by far the best bar in Detroit. And this tops the Post, Lindell AC, the old Mercury Bar (in front of the old train station) and the rest of them. I would of rather seen the Tigers renovate the old ballpark and the bars in this area of Detroit are second to none. Nemo's is a great bar to get a cold beer, a great burger and to talk sports with anyone in there.

  • Pros: inexpensive, good parking, crowded

None Better

by smokinjoe

The folks at Nemo's know how to really treat their customers. The Springstead family run a top quality place. The food is excellent, the beer cold, and you won't find a shot glass in the place. Why fool around with parking at the game. Go to Nemo's: Parking free, Shuttle 3 bucks, Beer and food reasonably priced.

The staff is excellent. They remember your name, know what you drink, and keep your glass filled.

What more could you ask for?

  • Pros: value, service, shuttle
