I recently had a very positive experience with TEC furniture. I was searching for the sofa table that matches my existing set, but the store at which I'd originally bought the set no longer carried that manufacturer. An internet search lead me to Jim K at TEC Furniture in Westland. Jim was eager to track down my table, staying in communication with me during the entire process. He was able to locate it, placed my special order, and was extremely professional and polite. He even offered to have the table sent to a store location closer to my home, so I didn't have to make the 1-hour drive back to Westland. My table arrived within the promised timeframe, and in perfect condition. The employees at the Southfield store, where I picked up my table, were very helpful and polite. A floor salesman even helped load the table into my vehicle, even though I'd arrived on a "non pick-up" day. I'd highly recommend this store to any shopper on a budget.

This was the most demeaning experience I have ever had when trying to spend my money. The sales people were wonderful, but they can only do what the management allows. The store manager is rude and dismissive. The furniture is cute, but over priced. You'll do better going to Art Van where you will find the same furniture and much lower prices and will not have to deal with an insensitive and insecure manager. This is a store that is designed to attract individuals who just don't believe they deserve better or can do better. Not all TEC stores are the same, however. The one in Westland is quite wonderful and the management is courteous and accomodating. If you live in Detroit and this is the only store you can go to because of transportation, go to the Salvation Army or just wait until you can save a bit more. You deserve better!! It uses bait-and-switch advertising to get you into the store. Don't believe the hype on the TV!!!
