I think that some of the stylists are great they do know up and coming hair and know how to work with the shape of your face/head. but sometimes they seem to not listen to you and still do what they want to which is frustrating when your spending the amount of money you are. Also I agree that they book people too closely sometimes i've had to wait 30 mins for my stylist to complete her last client. which i think was ridiculous! also the girls behind the desk...... they have no customer service skills! some not all are very caddy girls that won't take the time to stop talking to stylists about nothing which i dont think stylists should be behind the desk sitting in chairs telling people they cant help them check in. it frustrates people seeing that many girls behind a desk with no one actually taking the time to help guest whom are there to enjoy a nice experience. I just think that if you get some of those girls out that think they deserve to be there and replace them with people that work hard and want your business to prosper you guys will become much more sucessful. i love coming there i love the work the girl that does my hair does but i am dissapointed in the receptionists and the overbooking. its just unprofessional.

I had a wonderful massage last weekend by Nancy. After having a baby not too long ago I finally had time to relax with a massage, given to me for Sweetest Day! It turned out to be the best massage I've ever had! She helped to relax the muscles I used the most on a day to day basis. Carrying a baby around made my shoulders very tight & Nancy helped to relax & stretch those core muscles out. The atmostphere was also very peaceful. Thanks again! Nicole Chidsey
Pros: peaceful, relaxing

When I first moved to Michigan, I was looking for a great salon (coming from a large city). I found a good stylist at Bocci and had been going to her over the last year and, might add, I thought had a good relationship with her and tipped her well each time. Because she was good, I tried to ignore the fact that a couple of the girls behind the front desk lacked some basic customer service skills (sometimes rude and would not go out of their way for looking at the schedule to add on services or even get a coffee for the client). However, just recently, I had an appointment with the salon and called ahead to let them know I was running 10 minutes late due to traffic. Low and behold, the girl at the front desk asked me to hold to ask my stylist if she could still take me and my stylist (to my surprise) said, "She is booked solid and with 10 min behind, she is unable to take you" - the salon or the stylist not even booking/considering appointments to have a grace period of only 10 minutes! All I can say is that I normally stick with a good stylist, but when customer service is lacking all around, and you can't accomodate a good client, it's time to leave. Customer service is important along with a good stylist and Bocci Salon, you lost a good client. To all reading this, I hope you find that balance of good customer service and a good stylist - I am now looking for a new salon myself!
Pros: Good stylists
Cons: Poor customer service

Anyone who ever needs an amazing massage, go see Nancy at Boccis Salon. I am a runner and she made my legs feel brand new. I have gotten many many massages, not one has ever compared to how great Nancy's was. She pin points your exact needs. I was nervous going in cause I had never met her, but WOW was she the best!! If you go to Boccis request Nancy for sure

Bocci lists on this site (though I didn't see it on their own site) that they do Botox - has anyone here had it done at Bocci? If so, can you give me a rating on results and price?

I had my hair cut, colored, and high-lighted and loved the entire process! Lindsay was fabulous, answered any questions I had and asked lots of her own to be sure I was getting what I wanted. My appointment was late in the evening and I ended up being there a half hour after they closed. She didn't care, didn't even mention it. I will definitely go back and see her again. The only downside is that she can't style my hair every day!

First off, this new Bocci Salon in Birmingham is amazing! From the minute you walk in, you will understand what I am talking about. The salon is beautiful inside and the staff was very friendly. In the waiting area you can sit by a fireplace and drink tea, coffee, water, etc... After you get your hair done they touch up your make-up if you want. When I went I saw Lori-Beth and my hair could not look any better! She was very friendly and delightful to talk to. More importantly, she made my hair look amazing! The color turned out gorgeous and the cut was very good as well. I could not be happier with my hair, it is easy to style, I can do almosty anything with it!!! I had a very pleasant experience at BOCCI SALON in Birmingham, and would highly recommend this salon and especially my new stylist, LORI-BETH, to anyone who wants great hair, a great experience, and 1st class service!!
Pros: Friendly Staff, Great Stylists, Great Atmosphere!
Cons: Nothing

I ended up going into the salon with positive thoughts, but ended up leaving with bad thoughts in my mind. The staff was not so nice and the job performed was not so great. I ended up leaving with even more damaged hair than I initially had before entering the establishment. I was not pampered whatsoever!!! Spending such a high amount of money; one would expect to receive a decent amount of treatment. The salon is overrated by the stylists themselves, which is quite obvious after reading the commentary on the site. At least make it less obvious when leaving comments about your own business. The only good thing about this salon is the way it looks and its location. It's too bad that managers running it don't do the greatest job!
Pros: Looks nice.
Cons: Staff isn't nice.

After reading the negative reviews, I had to share!! It's amazing how quick people can go to negavitity! I am very picky about hair and make-up--however, each and every time I have gone into Bocci I leave very happy. In regards to the negative "gothic" makeup comment, maybe open your mouth and allow the make-up artist to "correct" what you may not be happy with. Leaving not liking something, is your fault. Step outside of your box once in a while and allow someone to try something new. Each employee at Bocci is very well educated and trained-when someone else does your hair or makeup, it wil be different than what you are used to. Keep in mind that just because it is different doesn't mean it looks bad! I would recommend seeing BOTH RANDI AND MARLENE if you would like something done both professionally and beautifully!! They have yet to let me down! They both will give you great hair (Randi) and make-up/skin care (Marlene)-- Marlene helped me GREATLY with my skin- I would recommend seeing her if you have problem skin- she helped clear my skin more than any doctor had!!! She is the most educated-in my opinion--for skin care at bocci!!!
